Carolyn helped us with an extensive remodel/rebuild three years ago, and we have remained grateful since and our appreciation for all the little things she planned, has grown. We hired Carolyn after numerous interviews with interior designers. What we immediately appreciated was her humility (to listen), her creativity, and what we expected (and got) to be a collaborative approach not just with us, but with our builder. A few of the standout characteristics we found in working with Carolyn: 1. She listens really well and can take various perspectives and converge them into a vision. The vision doesn't feel like a vote; it feels coherent, well-thought through with attention to how the space will be used practically. 2. To our surprise, Carolyn was as much in the build process as the builder. In fact, we would see her discussing 2x4s, 3x8s, and other details directly with the builder. It was apparent to us that she knew what to consider to manifest exactly what we agreed upon in design. It was also another indication to us that she could collaborate well. 3. Carolyn is a joy to know and work with. You meet so many people in the build process that work hard for your home. Carolyn brings optimism, a confidence that any problem can be solved, and sometimes even the counseling on how to deal with tough situations. It's in her nature to bring people together toward the right outcomes. I absolutely recommend Carolyn because she is a great designer with great integrity.

We bought a brand new modern home and Carolyn helped us furnish and decorate the entire house. She helped us with everything from paint colors to light fixtures to furniture to bathroom towels. We would recommend her highly. The three key things we would say about Carolyn: 1) She was a great partner for us. She listens well and incorporated our preferences and tastes into her design. She has energy and passion and is a joy to work with. She was patient and always very responsive to e-mails and phone calls. 2) Carolyn is a great designer. She can do everything from structural design to arranging accessories. She has a vision for how things will come together. She is particularly good at creatively coordinating colors. She has the flexibility to work across many different styles. And 3) Carolyn is conscientious and accountable. She sweats the details and ensures things are done right. She can hold her own with any contractor or supplier. She stands behind her work. Our house turned out better than we could ever has imagined. The highlights are the areas where Carolyn pushed us further than we would ever have gone on our own. Not to sound trite, but she truly turned our new house into a beautiful and comfortable home.

Carolyn has helped me with the interior furnishings of my entire house, such as custom bedding, a headboard, curtains, rugs, pillows and couches. Most recently, she took on the remodel of my kitchen. My new kitchen is just gorgeous. It was such a relief to have Carolyn come by and go into ‘autopilot’ as she told the Contractor how many lights I needed, where to place them, how to extend the counter, how to convert a closet into a pantry, and on and on. When we were creating a custom finish on the cabinetry, if the samples were not just right, off they went, back to the painters for more adjustments, a good 3 or 4 times, until the finish was perfect. So after all this work, and because I have the results to show for it, here is what I would say to anyone looking for a Designer. If you are looking for someone capable of creating a big vision for your project, Carolyn is just what you need as your personal advocate, protecting your interests in the myriad and confusing world of builders and subs. Carolyn can walk into a house and instantly see its potential. She’ll tell you with confidence to knock this wall down, or move another one a couple feet closer, and she’ll be right. She just has the ability to be able to visualize how a design plan will look…in her head, before you break down any walls. She is also one of those rare birds who can do math on the back of a napkin, and then create a custom mix of tints to develop that color you just pulled out of a magazine. She spends considerable parts of her days worrying about a half inch here…or ¾ inch there, is this fabric exactly the right color and material for its intended use, and on and on. She actually DOES sweat the small stuff. Carolyn can go toe-to-toe with every type of contractor and vendor in the buildings biz…AND she actually understands what they’re saying. In addition, she’s a welcome member of their team and they invite her back into projects time and time again. For jobs big and small, Carolyn has a remarkable set of skills, both interpersonal, technical and creative.
