I ordered door knobs for our new house in January from build.com. I received multiple emails letting me know my order was delayed - originally to be delivered at the end of February, then March, then May and finally a June delivery date. This week I received notice that my doorknobs shipped. Unfortunately, they sent the order to my old address - despite changing the address online and with a customer service rep in March. They are now telling me that in order to get my doorknobs I need to go knock on the door of my old house and see if I can get the boxes from the new owner. This is silly. I do like how the recording on their hold music (and I've been on hold a lot!) says that customer satisfaction is their number one priority. My experience has told me that simply isn't the case.

Tried to place an order with this company. Item offered a discount, but when I tried to use it, it was not accepted, and it took 20 minutes on the phone, and having to redo entire order to get the small discount. Then when order was placed for a clear glass sink, description came up as white. This took more phone calls to clear up - was it clear and description wrong or was the description right and the picture wrong? Took 20 minutes to clear that up. I wanted to use a Visa gift card, but was told I couldn't because the computer wouldn't take it. Guess what - the computer DID charge the card for the full amount but they wouldn't put the order through. Now I have to wait two weeks to get the money put back onto the gift card. Customer service persons were pretty nice, but no satisfaction at all. Rotten, With lots of choices out there, I wlll use another company.

I ordered a $550 bath tub from Build.com. It shipped to me badly damaged (In 4 different spots?!) I called to have it picked up and refunded. I needed the tub ASAP so I went to Lowe's and bought an in stock tub. Not the one that I wanted either. No big deal. I was told it'd be taken care of. A week later I call to check status. I was told to send in a few pictures and then I could give it away or whatever. I sent her the pictures and asked that it be picked up. My plumber doesn't even want it. She basically told me to screw off. My problem now. I can pay to have it picked up? Who does business this way? I send you damaged goods and you deal with it? The driver took notes, pictures and called it in as damaged at the time of delivery as well. This tub has caused a lot of wasted time and money. First of all, I demanded my refund. How are they still holding my money??? Secondly, it is taking up a huge amount of space. I need it gone. They sent me junk and now won't deal with it. If I don't get a favorable response I'm going to waste more of my time dragging their company in the mud on every site that will allow it. The Associate (Alyona) put me in their rewards program for my trouble. Yes, you just read that correctly. As my reward, I am put in a program to buy more of their products? Funny thing is, I would have had this been made right! I'm doing a100% remodel on an1898 old Painted Lady and need a ton of items!

Build.com has done everything it can in order to assist Mr. Montgomery. Prior to the customer calling into the call center, our company had already set up his refund to go back to him. Unfortunately, a refund can take a couple business days to be processed by the customer's bank before seeing it returning on his/her bank statement. We've also tried to work with Mr. Montgomery in terms of having the tub removed from his property, including calling multiple locations and organizations to see if they will pick up his tub for him and offering to reimburse him for any potential hauling fees. Mr. Montgomery has refused any assistance to help him.
Build.com is great to do business with. I misinterpreted a product description which led to ordering twice as much of a product than I needed. They worked with me on the return. I have ordered several thousand dollars of home remodeling items from them over the past few years and intend to keep giving them every bit of business I can. Their selection, order turnaround and customer service is top notch. Just be aware that they will charge your credit card at time of order, unlike most businesses that charge at time of shipment. They have UPS tracking numbers on everything so that gave me peace of mind that everything was on its way.

I ordered many of our faucets, trim, sinks for the complete remodel of our house from Build.com. I was very disappointed with the quality of some of the items we received. The worst was a shower trim kit with the wrong rough in in the box. Our plumber installed it and then when we went to install the trim it wouldn't fit.
I was directed to the manufacturer to come up with a solution. I won't use these guys again. Their customer service reps were very knowledgeable but its not worth the hassle on the back end when there's a problem.

Holy Smokes!!!! Build.com is such a huge asset to me and our company. It is like a one stop shop for any product that a contractor or designer will need for a project. AND to top that off, their prices and selection are next to impossible to beat. I am so pleased with what I have bought form Build.com, and I plan to use them as often as I can. It also makes my job easy when the client needs to select finishes or products, I can just point them to Build.com.

I purchased a few items from this on-line company while remodeling my kitchen. All items came swiftly and as described. I have used the item about a year now and they all are working just great!

For a remodel project, THIS is the best site for online ordering. We purchased vanities, sinks, lighting, and mirrors for two bathroom upgrade projects. The pricing was fantastic, but even better, the materials were as advertised, arrived in perfect condition, and the materials were all great quality. Very happy to have found build.com. Take a look. This is the best service I have ever encountered. I am 69 years old...so I have used a lot of services and products in my time. I have never made an on line purchase of this type. I was really concerned when I called them. The very first person I talked to put me at ease. He made sure we agreed,on what,each thing was and helped me decide,on some things, like valves, I was not sure about. I was amazed,at how well the whole thing went..due to a,few past disappointments with other businesses.
I could not say enough nice things about the business and the people who work there.
Fear not!, order from them...they sell a LOT of things from potties to lamps.
