We worked with Betsy on our family room/kitchen remodel. Betsy is fabulous. We love her ideas and recommendations. Betsy made the entire process very easy from helping us with a contractor for our built-ins to various vendors for granite, tile, window treatments, etc. She understood our budget and gave us a range when looking at different options from granite to fabrics to the area rug. Betsy has been super helpful and a delight to work with! At the very first consultation at our home, she gave us paint color recommendations and reorganization tips to make better use of our rooms and even closets - instant value! She helped us pick out new pieces to supplement what we had. And boy does she have an eye for art and color. Every time she is over, I have ten aha! moments and leave the meeting with a bunch of todos that end up making me love the space more and more. I am grateful for her help!

We moved into our 1897 Newton home in August, when it was in the middle of extensive renovations. I’m so glad we found Betsy a few weeks later. Her design sense, optimistic outlook, and extensive contacts helped us get through the stressful renovation process and create a beautiful and comfortable home. She helped with wallpaper selection for the dining room and entryway and paint color selection for the living room, 2 bathrooms, and third floor family room and guest room. She helped select window treatments for the kitchen, 2 bedrooms, and a bathroom (and wisely advised that we not rush ahead with additional window treatments until the renovations were complete and we had lived in the house a little longer). She also worked with us on 2 large window seats and several custom accent pillows. I really appreciated how Betsy carefully assessed our style based on existing furniture, light fixtures, and colors as well as our conversation during the initial consultation visit. When she returned a couple of weeks later, it was clear that she was focused on complementing our style, not changing it. She researched fabrics, window treatments, fabrics, wallpaper, and paint colors and provided several choices of each. When I asked her to look for additional options, she took my feedback and came back with new selections that were exactly what I was looking for. When Betsy made a suggestion, she explained her point of view persuasively, but did not push it. She did an excellent job of integrating the first floor rooms so that the overall look was harmonious, but not uniform or boring. Some of the little touches, like a slight change to living room paint color and the choice of accent pillows for the parlor, made big impacts at low cost. My teenaged daughter really liked working with Betsy. My daughter had a distinct style that she wanted to achieve in her bedroom, but she had no patience for look through dozens of fabric swatches. Betsy suggested a subtle and inexpensive change to the duvet cover that retained the general style, but tied together the paint color and the bed much better. Then she found a great fabric for the large window seat and that really pulled together the whole room. My daughter was thrilled. The people that Betsy works with are very professional and do top notch work. That includes “blind guy” that took care of the window treatments in the bedrooms and bathroom, the wallpaper hanger, and the seamstress that prepared the roman shades, window seats and pillows. I really appreciated that the quality and timeliness of the work, as well as how Betsy did all of the legwork and saved me time. I look forward to working with Betsy on future renovations and design projects and I highly recommend her as a designer.

I called Betsy because I am redoing our kitchen and love the photos on her Houzz site of kitchens she had designed. I love that Betsy asks me a lot of questions to figure out the best design for my home. She is practical, has great contacts for draperies, painters and other tradespeople and uses my input to make a home that delights me and works for our family. Betsy has a great artistic eye for paint colors, accessorizing, furniture placement, along with selecting and placing art work. She is also an artist and I have purchased her own oil paintings along with some work from artists she represents and cool old pieces she finds at auctions. Betsy is reliable,flexible, detail oriented and a fast communicator. I am glad I found her on Houzz!

I couldn't be happier with Betsy. I've used her twice, once to pick colors for my house and another time to help with a bathroom remodel. With both projects she was able to help me achieve the vision I had in my head. She's s great balance of listening to you and bringing in her own expertise. Before I called her I was struggling to find colors for my interior. I would like something at the store and then it would be too pastelly, too grey, or too dark on the wall. After painting lots of colors swatches on my wall, I called Betsy and she proceeded to make the process ridiculously easy. She listens to what you want and then immediately has ideas that get you the look you wanted. I had a similar experience with her on the bathroom project. This time she also went with me to the tile store and bath showroom. After an initial meeting, we were able to look at my bathroom, plan the remodel, and then visit both stores in three hours. I was really impressed with the efficiency and appreciated that this kept the design cost down for me as well. Also, she responds to your emails very quickly and thoroughly. Very highly recommended!

Betsy helped us with a new bathroom. We had picked out the elements ourselves, like tile and vanity countertop, and wanted a professional's opinion on whether they would all work together. She looked at our choices and had some good advice on specifics as well as the overall design, like reducing the door size. I thought Betsy was really great at getting a sense of our style and our threshold for change and making recommendations that respected it. We were really happy with the work she did for our project!
