Aquarian Renovations

Entered into a 'design only' agreement with Aquarian in September 2019. I paid a little over $10,000. We discussed the budget and proceeded. A little over a year later the estimate arrived and it was almost twice what we had originally discussed. There were lots of problems after this. Reviewing the estimate, I saw the cost for new cabinets was around $52k. I asked them to get a competitive quotation and they refused. The construction drawings had dimension errors on them, sent an email and asked them to correct it, no response. These were right off the RPR supplied a year earlier. The building permit was rejected by the City because the design did not meet zoning requirements, sent an email and asked Aquarian to fix them, no response. And it went on and on, issues with asbestos removal, blank checks written into the scope of the contract, more issues than I have the space to list them all. At the end Aquarian sent me an email and informed me that they were ‘closing my file’ due to ‘profound price increases from our sub trades...’ However, our contract was for design only and had nothing to do with the construction costs. I sent an email and asked for a refund, no response. And this is the big problem, you pay a company to perform some function, they decide to not complete the contract but keep the money anyways. This pretty much sums up Aquarian. Filed a complaint with the BBB, apparently Aquarian couldn’t even be bothered to respond to them. Imagine if you hire this company and you have problems, they will just disappear like they did with me. I suggest if you want to hire a renovation firm, look elsewhere.

Top quality work, completed on time and on budget. Very professional, knowledgeable and friendly staff. All trades/employees are respectful of the home and yard they are working in. The staff and trades pay attention to detail ensuring a fabulous result. We were so pleased that we hired them to do a reno for our father as well. We continue to receive lots of compliments on our home.

Aquarian renovations was exactly the kind of company we were looking to hire when we embarked on our Reno journey. The are a family sensed business which is exactly the way we feel about our employees. They took great care to make sure we were always informed and had complete knowledge of any changes the occurred or had to occur. Respect for the client was always number one on the job site. I loved all our design meetings with the team and especially Marsha who somehow kept me on track. The results I think speak for themselves!!! It took a year to transform our home into this warm and gorgeous home....thank you Aquarian we could not have done this without you.

My first home purchase in 2003 was a 1950s classic; built in the beautiful Glenora district. This area is complemented by big trees, large lots and eclectic architecture of the original homes, and those being renovated or completely rebuilt. Aquarian did a spectacular job recreating my home into an executive loft style bungalow with large open spaces for entertaining. The entire upper floor was made into a master suite sanctuary. Thanks to Aquarian Renovations for creating such a wonderful place to call home!

In January I hired Aquarian to Enlarge a basement window and install a garage man door. They did a great job and I'm very pleased. Thanks again Andrew, Jean, Keith, Jordan, and Michael.

We contracted Aquarian in February of 2015 for a completed interior top to bottom renovation of a two storey 2600 sqft home we purchased. Being a member of Reno Mark and after speaking to their references, we were confident that they were serious about their business. Aquarian takes a considerable amount of time up front to plan the whole project from start to finish to ensure every detail is accounted for. This upfront time seemed to take a while as we were excited to get started, however, this was well worth it. Once the construction did start it was almost seamless because most everything was accounted for. During the process, communication was very fluid, open and any concern we did have was addressed promptly. Change orders were handled professionally through the use of Builder Trend and easily understood so that we were all in agreement. I would highly recommend Aquarian to anyone seeking a high end professional renovation!!

We have been working with Aquarian for months now and they are an incredibly professional and knowledgable company! We felt comfortable with the team immediately and they have been able to steer us towards the seemingly infinite number of choices involved in renovating a home with ease because of their experience and their ability to really hear us . We feel well cared for and in good hands. Although we haven't started building yet their 3 D capabilities have allowed us to see what our future home might look like . It has been a really cool process and we already feel happy that we chose Aquarian Renovations for our design and renovation team

The overall process from concept through design and construction was easy with Aquarian. We felt respected, our needs were heard and addressed. We continued to live in the home during a complete renovation of the main floor and kitchen and we did not experience any of the angst which so often accompanies such stories. The staff were professional and respectful and the quality of their work was impeccable. The few issues that we experienced were dealt with expediently and professionally to our complete satisfaction. We love our remodelled space and would highly recommend Aquarian Renovations.

Kitchen, Laundry Room and Dining Room: Aquarian Renovation is very thorough from the start of the project to the finish. Each step of the project is laid out for you in binders and very organized. You always know how the project is progressing. They completed our project on time and on budget. Our kitchen, laundry room and dining room look fantastic and we are thrilled with the result. I have recommended them to many friends.

The services provided by Aquarian were of high quality. It was clear that our satisfaction was important to them and they were willing to do what it took to ensure that we were pleased with the final product. Our home is beautiful and overall, the process was very positive.

I would recommend Aquarian Renovations to anyone! (In fact I did this morning.) They were very professional but friendly at the same time.
