Allen Building Specialties, located in Johnson County, represents the third generation of Allen’s that have been performing and delivering quality construction to both residential and commercial customers alike. The one thing that all generations of Allen’s share is a commitment to make sure the customer’s expectations are met and exceeded. Owner, Trae Allen, brings an incredible work ethic to the construction industry. His experience includes working in the construction industry for over 12 years. He enjoys problem solving and creating solutions that exceed customer’s expectations. Trae is a licensed Johnson County Class B Building Contractor. What sets Trae Allen apart from other contractors is 1) his adherence to the schedule and 2) his excellent communication system. As a client, you must have EVERYTHING selected before construction begins. This means paint, countertops, hardware, light fixtures, tile, etc. This allows Trae to schedule the subcontractors and then stick to the schedule. Regarding communication, everyone involved in the project is on an email software system so there is total accountability and written proof of all orders and changes. We are THRILLED with our remodel and we actually ENJOYED the process! Not something you hear very often after a construction project! Susan R.

Heading into our basement remodel project, I interviewed 5 different contractors. Allen Building Specialties, Inc. stood out from the crowd immediately. They could talk the talk, and proved they could also walk the walk. Trae and team are professional, courteous, and take pride in what they do. They were diligent in making sure they understood our vision for the project, asked the right questions, and executed flawlessly. Throughout the project, they allowed me to comment on the progress and ask questions to ensure everything was built as I intended. They offered helpful suggestions and allowed me to make changes without question as the project unfolded. The use of Co-Construct made tracking the project schedule, change requests, and project updates a breeze. We couldn't be more pleased with our space, and will use Allen Building Specialties for all future construction projects for our family. We couldn't recommend them more.

Trae and his team did an outstanding job on our upstairs remodel. They were so professional and easy to have in the house that unlike during past experiences with other contractors, we didn’t feel “invaded”. In addition, the start date we were told was actually the start date. The project was also completed on time. That hasn’t been our experience before working with Allen Building Specialties. Our upstairs is now so beautiful that it’s an absolute pleasure to hang out up there with our kiddos. We’re looking forward to working with Trae again, when we tackle our master suite remodel.

Having complete trust in a team with your home and family is tough to find. With Trae and team, they made a kitchen remodel as seamless as it could be. Their attention to detail and quality craftsmanship was excellent. Remodeling projects are always disruptive to the household, but their awareness to keep it to a minimum was appreciated. Their communication was timely and responsive. The invoicing process was detailed, organized and delivered zero surprises. I have received many compliments on the finished product and am grateful for this talented team that made it all come together.

We have now used Allen Building Specialties for 4 projects - new master bathroom, addition of a laundry/mudroom, removing a wall between kitchen and family room, and new windows. We couldn't be more pleased and will continue to use Allen Building. After working with a couple other contractors and finding them very undependable and with poor workmanship, we finally found Allen Building Specialties. We have worked with Mike at Allen Building the most. Mike is the definition of going above and beyond what is required and expected. Everyone at Allen Building Specialties is exceptional and a pleasure to work with.

Trae and his company did an outstanding job for us. He helped us with a commercial buildout of our coffee shop. Trae provided constant contact, mixed with ways to save on our overall buildout as we went along. The best part for me - when he laid out the timeline he hit the mark. No 2, 3, 4 weeks delay/time or cost overruns like you hear from time to time with other contractors.

Trae and his company of professionals were a true delight! The remodel was as painless as possible for us, considering that we needed to be living in the house while the work was being done. The finished product was exactly as we had pictured and the final cost was exactly as contracted! Any remodel has unexpected issues, but all of these were dealt with promptly and professionally.
