I have always known that architecture would be the path taken. I grew up on the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico, in an artistic household whose environment was essential in the nurturing and understanding that architecture embraces all aspects of art.
I consider myself fortunate to have been exposed to both classical Caribbean architecture and modern / contemporary architecture while still very young. I became particularly interested and influenced by organic and modern architecture after being introduced to the architecture of Frank Lloyd Wright, Dan C. Duckham and Alfred Browning Parker.
I established my practice in Fort Lauderdale, Florida in 1986, and developed my career doing commercial work such as high end office and retail developments, industrial buildings, multi-family projects as well as residential work that ranged from additions and alterations to new custom single family residences.
Quickly I discovered that I truly enjoyed designing homes for clients that were interested in high quality architecture. Also I discovered that the process of designing a custom home was a very personal and unique path for every project. I learned that every client is different and every project will reflect the wishes, site uniqueness, climate influence, locality, materials to be used and clients´ lifestyle. This is the way of organic architecture. Not inventing but discovering is the process of design.
