The DesignoryThe Barefoot Bay Cottage is the first-holiday house to be designed and built for boutique accommodation business, Barefoot Escapes (www.barefootescapes.com.au). Working with many of The Designory’s favourite brands, it has been designed with an overriding luxe Australian coastal style synonymous with Sydney based team. The newly renovated three bedroom cottage is a north facing home which has been designed to capture the sun and the cooling summer breeze. Inside, the home is light-filled, open plan and imbues instant calm with a luxe palette of coastal and hinterland tones. The contemporary styling includes layering of earthy, tribal and natural textures throughout providing a sense of cohesiveness and instant tranquillity allowing guests to prioritise rest and rejuvenation.

Weatherwell Elite - Aluminum ShuttersWeatherwell Aluminum shutters were used to turn this deck from an open unusable space to a private and luxurious outdoor living space with lounge area, dining area, and jacuzzi. The Aluminum shutters were used to create privacy from the next door neighbors, with the front shutters really authenticating the appearance of a true outdoor room.The outlook was able to be controlled with the moveable blades.
Pacific Garden DesignWhile these homeowners' 1966 Asian-inspired rancher was built for entertaining, the backyard wasn't living up to its potential. A combination of crumbling composite and wood decks wasn't functional and had become an eyesore, so they were replaced with an expanded single-level PVC deck. A new paver patio features a sunken fire pit and inset bench rocks, providing further space for entertaining. Additionally, a paver path wraps around the existing retaining wall and ramps up to the deck, providing a barrier-free entry to the house that will enable the homeowners to age in place.

Ellsworth Design BuildThis deck restoration was a very gratifying project. It began with a concept of replacing all the framing, relocating the stairs and resurfacing the deck. Add in restoring the upper porches and replacing all the sliding doors. Once again we get to do great things with great products, like using durable decking, building materials and quality doors. The windows and decking material give the home owner year round outdoor living with the products we want to stand behind. And who wouldn’t want to stand of a deck with this view.

Amber Freda Garden DesignWe love the night and day transformation this garden took on when our client requested a zen garden for her backyard in Crown Heights, Brooklyn. It’s always fun to be asked to design a garden with so many charming creative elements. Our re-design included brown bamboo fencing to cover a very bright white vinyl fence, a fountain, loose grey stones, dark brown deck tiles, contemporary furnishings, a stone Japanese lantern statue, and white fiberglass planters. The plantings include cherry laurels, bamboo, a red weeping maple, moss, grasses, and variegated euonymus. Overhead globe lights add a cheerful nighttime touch. Sunlight filters through verdant leaves overhead, dappling a red wood deck that envelopes the trunk of a magnificent tree. This is not just an outdoor space; it's an oasis, a sanctuary where the lines between indoors and outdoors blur, and the presence of nature takes center stage.
At the heart of this oasis lies the existing tree, not merely an obstacle but the focal point, the star around which the entire design revolves. Built specifically to accommodate its presence, the cabinetry forms a sculptural embrace, wrapping around the base like a protective shroud. Crafted from weather resistant materials that echoes the tree's own earthy tones, the cabinetry blends seamlessly into the landscape.
