ONLYCHILD STUDIOFull refurbishment and interior design of a three bedroom warehouse conversion on a cobbled street in one of East London's coolest neighbourhoods.
The apartment was designed with entertaining in mind, keeping the decor chic yet eclectic to convey a sense of sophisticated fun. The sleek U-shaped matt grey kitchen with bespoke open-shelving opening onto the jungle inspired lounge coupled with the pale grey laminate flooring create a feeling of vast bright space.
The statement pieces play a vital role in elevating the space as a whole from the limited edition disco-ball trolley bar and super-luxe Eichholtz palm tree floor lamp to the brass egg chair imported from Amsterdam nestled in the corner of the lounge.

Here we removed the chimney breast separating the kitchen and dining space, and altered the doors and windows in the space. Overall it gives one large, open-plan kitchen/living/dining room.

H. Miller BrosSet within an airy contemporary extension to a lovely Georgian home, the Siatama Kitchen is our most ambitious project to date. The client, a master cook who taught English in Siatama, Japan, wanted a space that spliced together her love of Japanese detailing with a sophisticated Scandinavian approach to wood.
At the centre of the deisgn is a large island, made in solid british elm, and topped with a set of lined drawers for utensils, cutlery and chefs knifes. The 4-post legs of the island conform to the 寸 (pronounced ‘sun’), an ancient Japanese measurement equal to 3cm. An undulating chevron detail articulates the lower drawers in the island, and an open-framed end, with wood worktop, provides a space for casual dining and homework.
A full height pantry, with sliding doors with diagonally-wired glass, and an integrated american-style fridge freezer, give acres of storage space and allow for clutter to be shut away. A plant shelf above the pantry brings the space to life, making the most of the high ceilings and light in this lovely room.
Luxmoore & CoThis shaker style kitchen has been built in a large open plan space and benefits from lots of storage. This includes beautifully handcrafted solid cherry spice and bottle racks and drawers to keep dry goods like flour, pasta, rice, cereals, jars, tins and the likes. There is a built in bin area for regular waste and recycling. Useful large and small pan drawers to keep these items neat as well as handy drawers for larger utensils and cutlery.
The cupboards around the outside are painted in Little Greene Paint Co ‘French Grey Mid’, with the kitchen island painted in Farrow & Ball ‘Railings’. The handles are from English Foundry – Armac Martin in Birmingham and are solid brass powder coated to a satin nickel finish. Included are Neff appliances, a Villeroy & Boch double farmhouse sink and tap by Perrin & Rowe in pewter finish (brushed nickel). The stone worktop is ‘Angelo White’ by Silkstone which is an excellent copy of carrara marble but a lot more hard wearing.

Collaborative Interior DesignThe indoor kitchen and dining room lead directly out to the outdoor kitchen and dining space. The screens on the outdoor space allows for the sliding door to remain open.
Haus Interior DesignThese terrific clients turned a boring 80's kitchen into a modern, Asian-inspired chef's dream kitchen, with two tone cabinetry and professional grade appliances. An over-sized island provides comfortable seating for four. Custom Half-wall bookcases divide the kitchen from the family room without impeding sight lines into the inviting space.

Margie Grace - Grace Design AssociatesWe decided on a retro look for our new kitchen with lots of display shelving, happy colors, laminate counters (no cracking!), a chubby old stove, period details and “linoleum” flooring.
Kiwi Kitchens LtdWe took the cabinetry up to the ceiling. We used Panelform zeroline in Arctic white velvet. Some extra necessities were added like a twin bin pullout, Blum space tower, Blum tandembox antaro soft closing drawers and LED strip lighting installed under the wall cabinets.
Two Hands InteriorsThe classic elements beautifully compliment the contemporary touches in a new kitchen that fits both the style of the home and the tastes of the homeowner. The artisan Zellige Tile juxtapose the classic Hicks pendents. A matte finish quartz countertop and a traditional white cabinet style anchor the room while the charcoal island adds interest. The open shelving between cabinets provides just the right amount of functional storage and display space.
Kowalske Kitchen & BathKowalske Kitchen & Bath was the remodeling contractor for this beautiful Waukesha first floor remodel. The homeowners recently purchased the home and wanted to immediately update the space. The old kitchen was outdated and closed off from the great room. The goal was to design an open-concept space for hosting family and friends.
LAYOUT
The first step was to remove the awkward dining room walls. This made the room feel large and open. We tucked the refrigerator into a wall of cabinets so it didn’t impose. Seating at the island and peninsula makes the kitchen very versatile.
DESIGN
We created an elegant entertaining space to take advantage of the lake view. The Waukesha homeowners wanted a contemporary design with neutral colors and finishes. They chose soft gray lower cabinets and white upper cabinets. We added texture with wood accents and a herringbone marble backsplash tile.
The desk area features a walnut butcher block countertop. We also used walnut for the open shelving, detail on the hood and the legs on the island.
CUSTOM CABINETRY
Frameless custom cabinets maximize storage in this Waukesha kitchen. The upper cabinets have hidden light rail molding. Angled plug molding eliminates outlets on the backsplash. Drawers in the lower cabinets allow for excellent storage. The cooktop has a functioning top drawer with a hidden apron to hide the guts of the cooktop. The clients also asked for a home office desk area and pantry cabinet.

ALL Renovation & Design LLCThe Deistel’s had an ultimatum: either completely renovate their home exactly the way they wanted it and stay forever – or move.
Like most homes built in that era, the kitchen was semi-dysfunctional. The pantry and appliance placement were inconvenient. The layout of the rooms was not comfortable and did not fit their lifestyle.
Before making a decision about moving, they called Amos at ALL Renovation & Design to create a remodeling plan. Amos guided them through two basic questions: “What would their ideal home look like?” And then: “What would it take to make it happen?” To help with the first question, Amos brought in Ambience by Adair as the interior designer for the project.
Amos and Adair presented a design that, if acted upon, would transform their entire first floor into their dream space.
The plan included a completely new kitchen with an efficient layout. The style of the dining room would change to match the décor of antique family heirlooms which they hoped to finally enjoy. Elegant crown molding would give the office a face-lift. And to cut down cost, they would keep the existing hardwood floors.
Amos and Adair presented a clear picture of what it would take to transform the space into a comfortable, functional living area, within the Deistel’s reasonable budget. That way, they could make an informed decision about investing in their current property versus moving.
The Deistel’s decided to move ahead with the remodel.
The ALL Renovation & Design team got right to work.
Gutting the kitchen came first. Then came new painted maple cabinets with glazed cove panels, complemented by the new Arley Bliss Element glass tile backsplash. Armstrong Alterna Mesa engineered stone tiles transformed the kitchen floor.
The carpenters creatively painted and trimmed the wainscoting in the dining room to give a flat-panel appearance, matching the style of the heirloom furniture.
The end result is a beautiful living space, with a cohesive scheme, that is both restful and practical.
