Traditional Dining Room with Pink Walls Ideas and Designs
Regarding Design
The scenic village of Mountain Brook Alabama, known for its hills, scenic trails and quiet tree-lined streets. The family found a charming traditional 2-story brick house that was newly built. The trick was to make it into a home.
How the family would move throughout the home on a daily basis was the guiding principle in creating dedicated spots for crafting, homework, two separate offices, family time and livable outdoor space that is used year round. Out of the chaos of relocation, an oasis emerged.
Leveraging a simple white color palette, layers of texture, organic materials and an occasional pop of color, a sense of polished comfort comes to life.

Anything is possible with a great team! This renovation project was a fun and colorful challenge!

This shingle-style home is one room “deep” throughout, so that every space has views of offshore island and rocky coastline. Casual family living spaces embrace a busy-but-barefoot lifestyle. The bright and welcoming kitchen-dining-living area is the center of the home. Formal rooms flank the front entrance hall, including the living room, interconnected dining room and library-study. Beyond the public area is fully appointed kitchen and butler’s pantry, then the casual family wing with its informal eating area, family room, porch and screened bluestone patio.

A young family moving from NYC to their first house in Westchester County found this spacious colonial in Mt. Kisco New York. With sweeping lawns and total privacy, the home offered the perfect setting for raising their family. The dated kitchen was gutted but did not require any additional square footage to accommodate a new, classic white kitchen with polished nickel hardware and gold toned pendant lanterns. 2 dishwashers flank the large sink on either side, with custom waste and recycling storage under the sink. Kitchen design and custom cabinetry by Studio Dearborn. Architect Brad DeMotte. Interior design finishes by Elizabeth Thurer Interior Design. Calcatta Picasso marble countertops by Rye Marble and Stone. Appliances by Wolf and Subzero; range hood insert by Best. Cabinetry color: Benjamin Moore White Opulence. Hardware by Jeffrey Alexander Belcastel collection. Backsplash tile by Nanacq in 3x6 white glossy available from Lima Tile, Stamford. Photography Neil Landino.
