Double glass front doors at the home's foyer provide a welcoming glimpse into the home's living room and to the beautiful view beyond. A modern bench provides style and a handy place to put on shoes, a large abstract piece of art adds personality. The compact foyer does not feel small, as it is also open to the adjacent stairwell, two hallways and the home's living area.

A shocking upgrade in quality and appearance - with a modest investment and a good designer. The old concrete stoop was re-surfaced with natural stone facing and patterned flagstone.

In this small but quaint project, the owners wanted to build a new front entry vestibule to their existing 1920's home. Keeping in mind the period detailing, the owners requested a hand rendering of the proposed addition to help them visualize their new entry space. Due to existing lot constraints, the project required approval by the local Zoning Board of Appeals, which we assisted the homeowner in obtaining. The new addition, when completed, added the finishing touch to the homeowner's meticulous restoration efforts. Photo: Amy M. Nowak-Palmerini

This is a craftsman-made custom boot bench, This simple design combines form and function as an alternative to a mudroom. Built into 'found space' it's all you need for a drop zone in the back entry. The shiplap in the hallway is integrated into this built in, making it a seamless addition. Holger Obenaus Photography
