We wanted to create a comfortable and tranquil retreat in this sunroom, a place where my clients could lounge and escape the world. We used oversized chaises, a soft color story, and interesting textures to accomplish this relaxed aesthetic. We layered warm, sandy creams and soft grays to create a casual, monochromatic palette that lends itself to a more subdued eclectic vibe and a truly relaxed atmosphere. We also made sure to incorporate a whole jungle worth of plants! Plants are the best way to bring life into your home. Not only do plants beautify your space, but they also have some pretty wonderful health benefits! They detoxify your home by improving indoor air quality. They are also known to boost your mood & lift your spirit!

A space that was only used as a pass through now has become a daily destination. Located in pastoral Great Falls, VA, just outside of Washington D.C., this sunroom needed to be a welcoming year round retreat for an active family of four. Inspired by resort lifestyle, the space was reconstructed using the same footprint as before, adding floor to ceiling windows. Air conditioning and underlayment heat under new wood-look porcelain tile were added to ensure the room could be enjoyed no matter what season. Sunbrella fabrics were used on the settee and chairs that will stand up to wet bathing suits and barbeques. Benjamin Moore’s Sapphireberry 2063 60 was painted to bring the blue sky in on even a cloudy day. Designed by Laura Hildebrandt of Interiors by LH, LLC. Photos by Jenn Verrier Photography. We designed this cozy sun room for reading and relaxing w/ a drink. It's a compact space w/ loads of light and built in bookcases/cabinets. All upholstery, pillows & window treatments are custom made. The coral linen print valence w/ tape trim adds color and interest to the room, which is adjacent to the dining room, which has coral chairs. We kept the color palette light with an airy, feminine sofa in a pale blue and white chevron and large floral pillows w/ a bold fringe trim. As this is a conversation area, we added an aqua blue tufted arm chair and a coral geometric upholstered bench for extra seating. The hand made wood pedestal table is a space saver as well as the rattan barrel table. We chose a carved wood table lamp and brass standing lamp for reading.

Client wanted an addition that preserves existing vaulted living room windows while provided direct lines of sight from adjacent kitchen function. Sunlight and views to the surrounding nature from specific locations within the existing dwelling were important in the sizing and placement of windows. The limited space was designed to accommodate the function of a mudroom with the feasibility of interior and exterior sunroom relaxation. Photography by Design Imaging Studios

This residence in Old Lyme, CT chose Integrity windows because they offer a complete saltwater proof system with no degradable exterior materials and no joints which could allow water or wind intrusion. They are semi customizable because of their ability to do custom mutins and have numerous sizes available. Integrity windows allowed me to design a complete house with a consistent look from window to window and door.
