This small loft space was a jumble of storage units. So this room was streamlined with a new sectional with a built in hide-a-bed, two rolling ottomans that open up for storage, and some large comfy pillows for extra seating. The media cabinet is a wall-mounted L-shaped unit that holds all the essentials, and creates the perfect space for a wall-mounted plasma tv. A strong paprika accent wall puts the focus on the media. How can drama be this understated? This lower level media room originally had a wall of very dated shuttered cabinets surrounding the bar. Instead of replacing the whole wall of cabinets, which would have been very costly, we saved the shelving and covered it with a deep blue velvet drapery mounted to the ceiling. The fabric provides great sound insulation for the large screen TV opposite it. We took inspiration from two iron Louis Comfort Tiffany gates which are hanging in the room when we were dreaming up the bar’s Deco design. The acrylic shelf is lit from underneath, and makes “artwork” of the glowing liquor.

The screening room has chaise lounges, reclining theater chairs and grasscloth walls, which help absorb sound. There is a refreshment area along its back wall, directly behind the room's backlit onyx bar. The bar offers places to sit while drinking and dining.

Relax in the comfort of the Art Deco theater. Custom built-ins on either side of the theater provide plenty of storage for snacks, blankets, and anything else you may possibly need for your viewing pleasure. Custom theater with interior design and architectural detailing by Alexander Interiors.

This home theater was an addition to the client's basement. Comfortable leather theater seating was installed in a tiered fashion to allow for optimal viewing. The custom millwork, complete with built-in wall speakers, houses all the A/V equipment and pull out racks for DVD storage. A lighted cove ceiling creates an intimate theater experience. Walls are upholstered with a fun polka dot fabric for both acoustical and aesthetic value. There is even a candy bar for movie watchers with a sweet tooth.
