A sense of craft, texture and color mark this living room. Charred cedar surrounds the blackened steel fireplace. Together they anchor the living room which otherwise is open to the views beyond.

The living room layout allows a couch lounger to chat with someone in the kitchen. We covered the sofa in a casual Pierre Frey fabric and added a few soft faux fur pillows for touchable texture. A graphic David Adler moroccan rug contrasts with red and turquoise Roman shades (one of our favorite color combinations ever). Crisp white side tables, breezy lamps and a modern-meets-rustic wood and acrylic coffee table were picked for ultra-cool “chic cabin” flair. Photographer: Carrie Patterson

Cabinets & Designs
This home is perfect for a seasonal get-away or day-to-day living. It pretty much makes you one with nature with the wooden cabinets, wooden ceiling, stone fireplace and not to mention the large windows that overlook an amazing view. These cabinets from Wood-Mode top the charts. On the left there is medium-wooden cabinetry that has an intricate custom-design with both open shelving and cabinets that have glass doors. This combination is great for the bar! A little to the right of them are green cabinets that are also custom-made from Wood-Mode. These ones have abundant space for extra dishes, silverware, place mats or even food!

Living Room furniture is centered around stone fireplace. Hidden reading nook provides additional storage and seating.
This charming European-inspired home juxtaposes old-world architecture with more contemporary details. The exterior is primarily comprised of granite stonework with limestone accents. The stair turret provides circulation throughout all three levels of the home, and custom iron windows afford expansive lake and mountain views. The interior features custom iron windows, plaster walls, reclaimed heart pine timbers, quartersawn oak floors and reclaimed oak millwork.
In this living room, the wood flooring and white ceiling bring a comforting and refreshing atmosphere. Likewise, the glass walls and doors gives a panoramic view and a feel of nature. While the fireplace sitting between the wood walls creates a focal point in this room, wherein the sofas surrounding it offers a cozy and warm feeling, that is perfect for a cold night in this mountain home.
