This bespoke family kitchen was part of the renovation of a period home in Frome. The ground floor is a half basement and struggled with dark rooms and a layout that did not function well for family life. New windows were added to the adjoining dining room and crisp white finishes and clever lighting have transformed the space. Bespoke cabinets maximised the limited head height and corner space. Designed in a classic shaker style and painted in Hopper by Little Greene with classic burnished brass ironmongery, it is a timeless design.

We completed a project in the charming city of York. This kitchen seamlessly blends style, functionality, and a touch of opulence. From the glass roof that bathes the space in natural light to the carefully designed feature wall for a captivating bar area, this kitchen is a true embodiment of sophistication. The first thing that catches your eye upon entering this kitchen is the striking lime green cabinets finished in Little Greene ‘Citrine’, adorned with elegant brushed golden handles from Heritage Brass.

The bathroom was completely refurbished while keeping some existing pieces such as the base of the vanity unit, roll top bath, wall mirrors and towel rail.

This study room was created by removing a wall and replacing it with Crittall style folding glass doors opening up the space making it feel much larger. We built wall to wall, floor to ceiling bookcases for the client's many books and created a faux fireplace painted to look like black marble. A large white silk lamp shade hangs from the ceiling. A Gallery wall of art work and a mid century burnt orange wingback chair complete the room.

Sat in the heart of a charming Victorian terrace extension, The Eclectic Kitchen captures the joyful vibrancy of our client’s family life.
The bespoke kitchen cabinets are a fusion of timbers, combining exposed plywood wall cabinets with warm oak base cabinets. In the centre sits a spectacular slatted kitchen island with a solid oak worktop, all hand built by our team of skilled makers in our workshop.

A truly unique project for esteemed designer, Ashton Taylor-Smith in his new home. The apartment is a section of the Robert Adam-designed country house which was built in 1780 and was once home to George III’s physician, John Turton, as well as the exiled Emperor Napoleon III.
Our brief was to repurpose the 18th Century period grand salon for the 21st Century and design a kitchen to fit an entirely new location at the rear of the property, with southerly views out through the Tunbridge Wells sandstone Palladian portico to the rolling parkland beyond.

Transform Your Home with Expert Wallpaper Installation by Windy City Painters
This dining room in Evanston, Illinois, recently underwent a stunning transformation, thanks to the team at Windy City Painters. As a trusted Chicago painter and wallpaper installer, we specialize in elevating spaces with expert craftsmanship and attention to detail. For this project, we installed bold, eclectic wallpaper on both the walls and ceiling—a design style that’s making a huge comeback in modern home décor.
The ceiling wallpaper, in particular, is the highlight of this room. This intricate pattern required careful planning and precise installation to achieve a seamless look. Ceiling wallpaper installation is one of the most challenging aspects of our work. Gravity, delicate materials, and complex patterns make it a task that only skilled professionals should tackle. Every seam, alignment, and adhesive application must be perfect, as even minor mistakes can be glaringly obvious on a ceiling. This is why hiring an experienced wallpaper installer is essential, especially when working with expensive, custom, or delicate wallpaper.
The process of wallpaper installation begins with careful surface preparation. Walls and ceilings need to be cleaned, repaired, and smoothed to ensure the wallpaper adheres properly. Next comes the meticulous measuring and cutting of wallpaper pieces, taking into account pattern repeats to ensure a flawless design flow. For ceilings, additional steps include precise alignment and support systems to keep the wallpaper in place as the adhesive sets. It’s a time-intensive process, but the results speak for themselves—creating a space that feels polished, cohesive, and unique.
Bold, busy patterns, like the one used in this dining room, are becoming increasingly popular. This eclectic style is perfect for homeowners looking to add personality and drama to their spaces. When paired with complementary furniture and décor, it creates a harmonious yet striking aesthetic. In this case, the rich blue tones, paired with natural wood accents and mid-century modern furniture, make the room feel both elegant and inviting.
At Windy City Painters, we pride ourselves on being a top Chicago painting contractor and wallpaper expert. Whether you’re looking to enhance your walls or tackle the challenge of ceiling wallpaper, our experienced team has you covered.

The laundry room may be one of the most functional spaces in the house, but that didn’t stop us from treating it like a design opportunity. In fact, we believe the most used spaces deserve the most love—and this one delivers.
A showstopping patterned tile from Haus Tile anchors the room with playful sophistication, echoing the circular motifs found throughout the home. Above, deep green Tedd Wood cabinetry offers ample storage, finished with oversized Atlas Dot knobs in brass that feel as chic as they are substantial.
We incorporated thoughtful additions like a hanging rod from Signature Hardware for air-drying clothes, a long quartz work surface in Cambria Inverness Gold for folding and sorting, and an ultra-durable Blanco Silgranit sink paired with a Kingston Brass wall-mounted faucet to keep things clean and stylish. Above, glass ribbed lights from West Elm add just the right amount of sparkle.
