7. Diagonal Line The diagonal wood beams give the illusion of direction. This draws the eye to the horizontal wood beam in the middle of the wall.

The mix of materials, the beams (while we don't like rustic) add architectural interest. We would prefer a room that was a shape other than a rectangle or square.
