KUBE architectureArchitects Modern
This mid-century modern home was designed by the architect Charles Goodman in 1950. Janet Bloomberg, a KUBE partner, completely renovated it, retaining but enhancing the spirit of the original home. None of the rooms were relocated, but the house was opened up and restructured, and fresh finishes and colors were introduced throughout. A new powder room was tucked into the space of a hall closet, and built-in storage was created in every possible location - not a single square foot is left unused. Existing mechanical and electrical systems were replaced, creating a modern home within the shell of the original historic structure. Floor-to-ceiling glass in every room allows the outside to flow seamlessly with the interior, making the small footprint feel substantially larger. all,photos: Greg Powers Photography

Kristen Rivoli Interior DesignRenovation of a condo in the renowned Museum Tower bldg for a second generation owner looking to update the space for their young family. They desired a look that was comfortable, creating multi functioning spaces for all family members to enjoy, combining the iconic style of mid century modern designs and family heirlooms.

Millgard windows and french doors provide balanced daylighting, with dimmable fluorescent trough lighting and LED fixtures provide fill and accent lighting. This living room illustrates Frank Lloyd Wright's influence, with rift-oak paneling on the walls and ceiling, accentuated by hemlock battens. Custom stepped crown moulding, stepped casing and basebards, and stepped accent lights on the brush-broom concrete columns convey the home's Art Deco style. Cork flooring was used throughout the home, over hydronic radiant heating.

Divine RenovationCustom designed, built and stained birch, flat panel cabinets in our shop. Wood cabinets add warmth and are a staple of mid-century style. white subway tiles were installed on the backsplash and walls from counter to ceiling. Countertops are quartz, soft orange veined on a cream background with a suede finish, very retro.
Laure Nell InteriorsThe homeowners of this 6,000-square-foot house in Delray Beach don’t have to go far for a night out on the town. We transformed two bedrooms with a connecting bathroom into an entertainment wing with a true speakeasy vibe, right down to the hidden bookcase door that makes its entrance from the main living room quasi invisible. A moody, deep navy wallpaper with copper accents envelops the walls and layers together with rich woods and dark hues from floor to ceiling. The new movie room features custom built-ins, a home bar, a billiards table and the owners’ collection of vinyl records punctuated with a piece of Beatles-themed art that we sourced as an homage to the owners’ love of iconic films and music. The custom built-in wine fridge in the adjacent wine room houses their 250-plus collection of unique bottles the owners bring back from their frequent travels around the world. We pulled the moody palette into other areas of the home that needed reimagining, including the double-height living room, where we clad the fireplace in black and white materials and specified Tom Dixon’s lustrous Melt pendants to cascade over the space.
