Our Austin studio decided to go bold with this project by ensuring that each space had a unique identity in the Mid-Century Modern style bathroom, butler's pantry, and mudroom. We covered the bathroom walls and flooring with stylish beige and yellow tile that was cleverly installed to look like two different patterns. The mint cabinet and pink vanity reflect the mid-century color palette. The stylish knobs and fittings add an extra splash of fun to the bathroom.
The butler's pantry is located right behind the kitchen and serves multiple functions like storage, a study area, and a bar. We went with a moody blue color for the cabinets and included a raw wood open shelf to give depth and warmth to the space. We went with some gorgeous artistic tiles that create a bold, intriguing look in the space.
In the mudroom, we used siding materials to create a shiplap effect to create warmth and texture – a homage to the classic Mid-Century Modern design. We used the same blue from the butler's pantry to create a cohesive effect. The large mint cabinets add a lighter touch to the space.

Embark on a journey of design fusion with our transformative bathroom renovation project, aptly titled 'Timeless Fusion.' This endeavor seamlessly marries the charm of a Brown Vintage Vanity with the sleek allure of Modern Elegance, creating a symphony of styles that revitalizes your bathroom space.
The focal point of the project, the Brown Vintage Vanity, adds a touch of old-school charm. Its warm and rich tones evoke a sense of nostalgia, creating a welcoming atmosphere reminiscent of a bygone era. This vintage element is thoughtfully juxtaposed with the clean lines and modern aesthetic of the overall design, establishing a harmonious blend that transcends time.

We created an additional master bathroom downstairs and found a way to fit a grand free-standing tub, next to a separate walk-in shower. The unique flooring tile (a blue and white large-format terrazzo) adds a design edge to a space that's mostly black and white. Modern black powder-coated hardware blends seamlessly into the black backsplash tile for a sleek, modern look.

This Willow Glen Eichler had undergone an 80s renovation that sadly didn't take the midcentury modern architecture into consideration. We converted both bathrooms back to a midcentury modern style with an infusion of Japandi elements. We borrowed space from the master bedroom to make the master ensuite a luxurious curbless wet room with soaking tub and Japanese tiles.

The guest bathroom has the most striking matte glass patterned tile on both the backsplash and in the bathtub/shower combination. A floating wood vanity has a white quartz countertop and mid-century modern sconces on either side of the round mirror.

Can you believe this bath used to have a tiny single vanity and freestanding tub? We transformed this bath with a spa like shower and wall hung vanity with plenty of storage/

Every so often we get the unique opportunity to collaborate with another designer. This quirky and elegant master bath could not have been more fun to be a part of.
Meg Miller's incredibly cool vision for her clients' master bathroom was modern and bold, but refined, comfortable and inviting. The clients had specific needs for storage and the use of space, but didn't want anything to appear function-over-form. No amenities were overlooked: custom walnut cabinetry, heated floors, a digitally controlled shower and steam shower, and an all glass water-closet.

This 1956 John Calder Mackay home had been poorly renovated in years past. We kept the 1400 sqft footprint of the home, but re-oriented and re-imagined the bland white kitchen to a midcentury olive green kitchen that opened up the sight lines to the wall of glass facing the rear yard. We chose materials that felt authentic and appropriate for the house: handmade glazed ceramics, bricks inspired by the California coast, natural white oaks heavy in grain, and honed marbles in complementary hues to the earth tones we peppered throughout the hard and soft finishes. This project was featured in the Wall Street Journal in April 2022.
