A wine cellar that literally takes your breath away when you walk through the door. The Barrel ceiling with custom forged staves takes you inside the barrel. The Waterfall racking on both sides gives dimension to the room with a wine barrel as the focal point. The lighting valance around the room supports the lighting which illuminates that warm glow. A cork floor provides a unique look as well as protection for those bottles that may accidentally fall. The back of the custom door was completely covered by corks. The pull out computer drawer supports the computer inventory system attached to the individual metal wine tags attached to the racking. Photo taken by Inviniti Cellar Design

A small well-planned wine cellar with open storage for red wines and Sub-Zero refrigeration for white wines and champaigns. We used antiqued floor-tiles from Ann Sacks, floor border and custom designed mosaic back splash by Walker Zanger - made in Italy and shipped in one piece to be installed. There was some sweating involved to make sure it would fit seamlessly into back splash respectively into floor as border. And both items did! The back splash shows the founding year of the owner's high profile Silicon Valley company in Latin numbers . The majority of this wine cellar client's purchases were cases so the storage shelves were made into slide-outs for easy access. Magnum displays surround the feature wall and are capable of holding bottles three deep. The room was very well insulated and had a good connection to cold ground temperatures so that very little cooling was required. The cooler is concealed behind the individual bottle racking. Since the racking is porous, the cooler breathes through the racking and the client does not have to see the unsightly cooler in his cellar. The wine cellar is made of sustainably harvested, local Maple with an added stain and low VOC lacquer. Brick flooring and a Tuscan style tile on the feature wall give the wine cellar a Mediterranean feel.
