Mason House
Replacing this poorly built deck sparked a vision of peace and relaxation. This reinvented deck now appears to float with no visible means of support, which softens the space on an almost subconscious level. Then adding an aluminum shoji screen, privacy blossoms creating a shelter filled with beauty. Watching the shoji screen cast a dazzling display of dancing leave shadows, the worries and cares of the outside world are swept away to a state of pleasant zen-like calm. The sensation of seclusion is achieved without blocking or interrupting the light. The transformation is complete and we find ourselves in an enlightened sanctuary.
