This project was purposefully neutralized in ocean grays and blues with accents that mirror a drama filled sunset. This achieves a calming effect as the sun rises in the early morning. At high noon we strived for balance of the senses with rich textures that both soothe and excite. Under foot is a plush midnight ocean blue rug that emulates walking on water. Tactile fabrics and velvet pillows provide interest and comfort. As the sun crescendos, the oranges and deep blues in both art and accents invite you and the night to dance inside your home. Lighting was an intriguing challenge and was solved by creating a delicate balance between natural light and creative interior lighting solutions.

With its transitional style and contrasting color palette, this master bedroom is the epitome of balance. Matching mirrored chests with gold accents flank the traditional, custom pine bed stand, giving the space a modern and feminine touch. The warm stain of the bed and French antique armoire stand out against the pale sea foam green wall. Atop the nightstands sit mercury glass lamps with linen shades that coordinate with the simple and classic matelassé coverlet. Hand-embroidered pillows in aqua blue and a soft, fuzzy throw add color to the ivory bed linens. A pine bench covered in an ivory and aqua graphic print punctuates the foot of the bed.

My clients came to me at the very start of their project, so early that they didn’t even have the keys yet! Being involved from such a premature stage enabled us to design the home completely to their liking and spec. I carried a neutral base throughout the entire home, with a black and white scheme throughout the hallways and staircases as I feel this acts as the spine of the home. I wanted the home to feel like different chapters from the same book.

Shoe storage is a must in the large master closet. Some shelves are "flat" while others are slanted for a better look at your collection.

Spire Integrated Systems Inc.Spire Integrated Systems Inc.
Tucked away in the backwoods of Torch Lake, this home marries “rustic” with the sleek elegance of modern. The combination of wood, stone and metal textures embrace the charm of a classic farmhouse. Although this is not your average farmhouse. The home is outfitted with a high performing system that seamlessly works with the design and architecture. The tall ceilings and windows allow ample natural light into the main room. Spire Integrated Systems installed Lutron QS Wireless motorized shades paired with Hartmann & Forbes windowcovers to offer privacy and block harsh light. The custom 18′ windowcover’s woven natural fabric complements the organic esthetics of the room. The shades are artfully concealed in the millwork when not in use. Spire installed B&W in-ceiling speakers and Sonance invisible in-wall speakers to deliver ambient music that emanates throughout the space with no visual footprint. Spire also installed a Sonance Landscape Audio System so the homeowner can enjoy music outside. Each system is easily controlled using Savant. Spire personalized the settings to the homeowner’s preference making controlling the home efficient and convenient. http://www.catherineandmcclure.com/historicbrownstone.html As interior designers for these vibrant Boston homeowners, our goal was to preserve the historic beauty of this classic Boston Brownstone while creating a fresh, sophisticated, and livable space for our clients. It was important in our design to showcase the incredible details in this home like the original coffered ceiling in the master suite and the beautiful fireplace mantle in the living area and the soaring ceilings throughout the house. #bostoninteriordesigners
