This wonderful French brick manor was brought to life twice, once with a gut renovation and another time with a cosmetic renovation. Each detail was carefully planned to complete a family home that was friendly, tailored and chic. The builder, contractors and designer all worked to bring this together in a short period of time. The living room contains a 10,000 record collection on an engineered bespoke steel shelving system anchored to the wall and foundation. White oak ceiling compliments the dark material palette and curvy, colorful furniture finishes the ensemble. We dropped the kitchen ceiling to be lower than the living room by 24 inches. This allows us to have a clerestory window where natural light as well as a view of the roof garden from the sofa. This roof garden consists of soil, meadow grasses and agave which thermally insulates the kitchen space below. Wood siding of the exterior wraps into the house at the south end of the kitchen concealing a pantry and panel-ready column, FIsher&Paykel refrigerator and freezer as well as a coffee bar. The dark smooth stucco of the exterior roof overhang wraps inside to the kitchen ceiling passing the wide screen windows facing the street.

Заказчики – Молодая семья с ребёнком, по профессии финансовые аналитики, увлекаются активными видами спорта (сноуборд, серф, вейк борд), любят путешествия. Заказчик играет на барабанах, поэтому необходимо было предусмотреть место для электронной ударной установки. Когда мы попали в квартиру, то сразу обратили внимание на большие окна с графитовыми рамами, наполняющие пространство воздухом и светом, задающие определенный ритм, и на красивую фактуру железобетонных перекрытий, которую мы вместе с клиентами решили частично оставить открытой в зоне гостиной. У заказчика была электронная ударная установка Yamaha, у нее интересный дизайн, она выглядит довольно минималистично, но при этом улавливается Японская стилистика. Эти факторы дали нам отправную точку, мы решили создать лаконичный интерьер с нотками восточного урбанизма, наполненный фактурами бетона, дерева, металла, оформленных в простые геометричные объемы, соразмерные архитектуре пространства. Вертикальный ритм окон продолжается в линиях раскладки плитки, деревянных панелей и мебели, проходит связующей нитью через все пространство квартиры, визуально объединяя его.
