Super stylish kitchen for a very contemporary new home. Tactile super matt and planked oak fronts mix up edgy and warm colour tones. Features 1200mm wide breakfast cabinet, cabinets to the ceiling, door colour matched handles, structured oak niche panelling, colour palette changing LED shelf and accent lighting.

Our clients & their 2 teenage kids had long outgrown the tiny kitchen of their 5 bed Victorian home, so they asked us to design and put in a planning application for a large side-return extension that would give them a new family space to cook, dine & relax in. The interior needed to be bright & open, cater for plenty of concealed storage, also house a walk-in washing room & guest WC.
Practicalities aside, the style had to be just the right side of glamorous. So we zoned off the open space using pastel paint colour, multi-floral wallpaper, staggered ceiling heights & moody wall lighting to define areas and alter the feel of each functional space. The kitchen is custom built and hand-painted, with Arabescato marble worktops, aged brass detailing, and reeded & hand-blown glass elements that lend an elevated and luxurious feel to the interior...even the guest WC has leopard print wallpaper in it!
For the exterior, we designed a courtyard garden with overspilling perimeter planting beds and brickwork paving to give a tranquil, rural feel to this urban terraced home.

Despite natural light to one side of this lower ground floor, the space comes alive at night. The area is divided into a games area with glass wine cabinetry display pertaining the bar and pool table from this super relaxed media area with an array of lighting controls.

Located on the dramatic North Cornwall coast and within a designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), the clients for this remarkable contemporary family home shared our genuine passion for sustainability, the environment and ecology.
One of the first Hempcrete block buildings in Cornwall, the dwelling’s unique approach to sustainability employs the latest technologies and philosophies whilst utilising traditional building methods and techniques. Wherever practicable the building has been designed to be ‘cement-free’ and environmentally considerate, with the overriding ambition to have the capacity to be ‘off-grid’.
Wood-fibre boarding was used for the internal walls along with eco-cork insulation and render boards. Lime render and plaster throughout complete the finish.
Externally, there are concrete-free substrates to all external landscaping and a natural pool surrounded by planting of native species aids the diverse ecology and environment throughout the site.
A ground Source Heat Pump provides hot water and central heating in conjunction with a PV array with associated battery storage.
