Durch das Entfernen einer Trennwand entstand ein offener Wohn-, Eß- und Kochbereich. Der Stil der minimalistisch gestalteten, grifflosen Küche, wurde durch die ebenfalls grifflosen Einbaugeräte konsequent weitergeführt. Der edle, lavagraue Mattlack der Fronten ist dank "TouchFree"-Oberflächen pflegeleicht und die raumhohe Planung gibt dem Raum zusätzliche Ruhe. Die schlichten, aber extrem robusten Keranikarbeitsplatten und Nischenrückwände sind hell gehalten und dank der flächenbündig integrierten Bora-Muldenlüftung und der ebenso integrierten Keramikspüle unerreicht pflegeleicht. Abgerundet wird das Ambiente durch die verdeckte, umlaufende Deckenbeleuchtung und das beleuchtete Regal im Raumteiler, was eine moderne Wohnlichkeit zum Wohnbereich hin einbringt. This is a large kitchen, so I designed a refrigerator on the cook's side of the island and another on the bar side of the island so those eating could access drinks/ice, etc without disturbing the cook. Le budget n'a pas permis de changer intégralement la cuisine. Nous avons donc conservé l'ensemble du mobilier et l'avons remis en l'état. La crédence et le plan de travail ont quant à eux été déposés et remplacés par de la mosaïque claire, le papier a été supprimé et remplacé par de la peinture. Une suspension a été ajoutée.

Changement spectaculaire pour cette cuisine qui n’existait pas avant notre intervention. A l’arrivée un grand plan de travail, un superbe îlot et l’incontournable murs de colonnes qui permet de tout ranger sans rien laisser dépasser. La niche fermée par un meuble rideau permet de connecter le plan de travail et le mur de colonnes en gardant le petit électroménager à portée de main tout en le cachant quand nécessaire. Une fois n’est pas coutume, le plan de travail n’est ni en stratifié, ni en granit, ni en quartz, il est simplement carrelé. Cette option de plan de travail, quasi abandonnée aujourd’hui dans les cuisines contemporaines, revient lentement dans les tendances grâce aux grands carreaux de faïence qui limitent les joints et permettent des effet pierre très réussis. Enfin cet exemple montre que l’on peut également allier portes sans poignée et profil de moulures contemporain, le design en cuisine ne se décline pas qu’avec des portes lisses. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. However, going for raised or recessed panel work in a striking colour such as dark blue, green or black can still work with contemporary kitchen ideas.
