Set within an airy contemporary extension to a lovely Georgian home, the Siatama Kitchen is our most ambitious project to date. The client, a master cook who taught English in Siatama, Japan, wanted a space that spliced together her love of Japanese detailing with a sophisticated Scandinavian approach to wood. At the centre of the deisgn is a large island, made in solid british elm, and topped with a set of lined drawers for utensils, cutlery and chefs knifes. The 4-post legs of the island conform to the 寸 (pronounced ‘sun’), an ancient Japanese measurement equal to 3cm. An undulating chevron detail articulates the lower drawers in the island, and an open-framed end, with wood worktop, provides a space for casual dining and homework. A full height pantry, with sliding doors with diagonally-wired glass, and an integrated american-style fridge freezer, give acres of storage space and allow for clutter to be shut away. A plant shelf above the pantry brings the space to life, making the most of the high ceilings and light in this lovely room.

This kitchen in an open-plan space exudes contemporary elegance with its Italian handleless design. The cabinetry, finished in Fenix Beige Arizona and Bianco Kos with a luxurious matt finish, contributes to a seamless and sophisticated look. The Italian handleless style not only adds a touch of minimalism but also enhances the clean lines and sleek aesthetic of the space. The worktops, featuring 20mm Caesarstone Aterra Blanca Quartz, add a touch of refinement and durability to the kitchen. The light colour complements the cabinetry choices to create a cohesive design. The choice of Caesarstone ensures a sturdy and easy-to-maintain surface. A spacious island takes centre stage in this open-plan layout, serving as a focal point for both cooking and dining activities. The integrated hob on the island enhances the functionality of the space, allowing for efficient meal preparation while maintaining a streamlined appearance. This kitchen is not just practical and functional; it also provides an inviting area for dining and socialising with a great choice of colours, materials, and overall design. This mid-century modern was a full restoration back to this home's former glory. The vertical grain fir ceilings were reclaimed, refinished, and reinstalled. The floors were a special epoxy blend to imitate terrazzo floors that were so popular during this period. The quartz countertops waterfall on both ends and the handmade tile accents the backsplash. Reclaimed light fixtures, hardware, and appliances put the finishing touches on this remodel. Photo credit - Inspiro 8 Studios

With a striking, bold design that's both sleek and warm, this modern rustic black kitchen is a beautiful example of the best of both worlds. When our client from Wendover approached us to re-design their kitchen, they wanted something sleek and sophisticated but also comfortable and warm. We knew just what to do — design and build a contemporary yet cosy kitchen. This space is about clean, sleek lines. We've chosen Hacker Systemat cabinetry — sleek and sophisticated — in the colours Black and Oak. A touch of warm wood enhances the black units in the form of oak shelves and backsplash. The wooden accents also perfectly match the exposed ceiling trusses, creating a cohesive space. This modern, inviting space opens up to the garden through glass folding doors, allowing a seamless transition between indoors and out. The area has ample lighting from the garden coming through the glass doors, while the under-cabinet lighting adds to the overall ambience. The island is built with two types of worksurface: Dekton Laurent (a striking dark surface with gold veins) for cooking and Corian Designer White for eating. Lastly, the space is furnished with black Siemens appliances, which fit perfectly into the dark colour palette of the space.

The super-smart, Shaker kitchen includes all sorts of classic Planet features; deep, accessible dove tail drawers, beautiful yet functional kitchen island, cocktail cabinet with bespoke wine racks and hand-built cabinetry that’s built to last. The classic pairing of dark navy and bright white is a winning combination which will stand the test of time whilst looking fresh and contemporary. And, who would object to all the Xmas prep if you had this utility room to work in? The large, spacious farmhouse sink with Quooker Flex tap are just what you need for messy pans (and dogs!) and the hanging rail above the worktop is genius for hanging freshly ironed shirts. We give the design of our utility rooms as much thought as we do the kitchen as it’s such a functional space – known by some as the engine room of a family home!

Client had a dated enclosed kitchen, large brick fireplace which divided the living room. We provided drawings to enlarge the opening between vaulted entry sunroom and create a large open floor concept with the living room by concealing a steal beam within the existing second floor.

Tile the splashback with a pattern - While the traditional subway pattern remains a popular choice with tiling, you can try some alternatives, such as herringbone or hexagon. Hamptons-style kitchens often feature marble or fine imported tiles, but you can find less expensive tiles that still look similar. GET THE LOOK FOR LESS: If your budget doesn’t permit marble tiles, stick to simple budget friendly white subway tiles. Save your pennies instead to invest in a good tiler who knows how to execute complicated patterns like herringbone. This is an example of a timeless l-shaped open concept kitchen with stainless steel appliances, ceramic backsplash, a farmhouse sink, shaker cabinets, white cabinets, marble countertops, medium hardwood floors. — Houzz Sand Kasl Imaging

A complete makeover of a tired 1990s mahogany kitchen in a stately Greenwich back country manor. We couldn't change the windows in this project due to exterior restrictions but the fix was clear. We transformed the entire space of the kitchen and adjoining grand family room space by removing the dark cabinetry and painting over all the mahogany millwork in the entire space. The adjoining family walls with a trapezoidal vaulted ceiling needed some definition to ground the room. We added painted paneled walls 2/3rds of the way up to entire family room perimeter and reworked the entire fireplace wall with new surround, new stone and custom cabinetry around it with room for an 85" TV. The end wall in the family room had floor to ceiling gorgeous windows and Millowrk details. Once everything installed, painted and furnished the entire space became connected and cohesive as the central living area in the home.
