The second project for Edit 58's Lisa Mehydene, this time in London. The requirement was one long run and no wall cupboards, giving a completely open canvas above the worktops.

Nestled away in the countryside, this dark green and oak Shaker kitchen features a subtly crafted beaded detail. Using oak drawers and antique brass hardware to complement the deep shade, with a natural granite worktop. With the existing brick wall tying the room together adding additional textures and a traditional feel.

Built in kitchen sink with marble counter and splashback. Dove grey units below and above. Pantry to the left. Quooker tap in antique brass, matching the cabinet door handles Large island with curved marble counter and integrated Bora induction hob with built in extractor. Seating around the edge. Built in ovens against wall with integrated freezer one side and fridge the other. Three pendant lights over island.

A full kitchen redesign in Norwood Junction, taking a kitchen that previously lacked enough storage to create a stylish and functional space that my clients want to cook and spend time in. The brief was to create a kitchen with dark tones and plenty of wood, and I designed this with black fenix and oak veneer doors, coupled with splashback and floor tiles for texture. Here the layout was dramatically changed, adding in floor to ceiling cabinetry, open shelving, a breakfast cupboard and opening up the window by removing the sink and dishwasher that were previously here. We painted the existing joinery in our Wandsworth Family Home kitchen diner, added a bespoke oval dining table & rug, vintage inspired wall lights and wooden dining chairs . Interior Design by Imperfect Interiors, photo Chris Snook

The kitchen was designed by Formwork and features stained birch faced plywood to soften the material palette and perfectly complement the polished concrete counter tops.

From this angle, the kitchen’s open-plan layout comes to life. The stepped floor adds gentle division without disrupting flow, and the built-in aquarium gives personality to the adjacent dining space.
