The open plan kitchen with a central moveable island is the perfect place to socialise. With a mix of wooden and zinc worktops, the shaker kitchen in grey tones sits comfortably next to exposed brick works of the chimney breast. The original features of the restored cornicing and floorboards work well with the Smeg fridge and the vintage French dresser.

This bespoke barn conversion project was designed in Davonport Tillingham, shaker-style cabinetry. With the 4.5m-high ceiling, getting the proportions of the furniture right was crucial. We used 3D renders of the room to help us decide how much we needed to increase the height of each element. By maintaining the features such as the old timber door from the gable; as the new door into the snug – it added character and charm to the scheme.

We had the privilege of transforming the kitchen space of a beautiful Grade 2 listed farmhouse located in the serene village of Great Bealings, Suffolk. The property, set within 2 acres of picturesque landscape, presented a unique canvas for our design team. Our objective was to harmonise the traditional charm of the farmhouse with contemporary design elements, achieving a timeless and modern look. For this project, we selected the Davonport Shoreditch range. The kitchen cabinetry, adorned with cock-beading, was painted in 'Plaster Pink' by Farrow & Ball, providing a soft, warm hue that enhances the room's welcoming atmosphere. The countertops were Cloudy Gris by Cosistone, which complements the cabinetry's gentle tones while offering durability and a luxurious finish. The kitchen was equipped with state-of-the-art appliances to meet the modern homeowner's needs, including: - 2 Siemens under-counter ovens for efficient cooking. - A Capel 90cm full flex hob with a downdraught extractor, blending seamlessly into the design. - Shaws Ribblesdale sink, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal. - Liebherr Integrated tall fridge, ensuring ample storage with a sleek design. - Capel full-height wine cabinet, a must-have for wine enthusiasts. - An additional Liebherr under-counter fridge for extra convenience. Beyond the main kitchen, we designed and installed a fully functional pantry, addressing storage needs and organising the space. Our clients sought to create a space that respects the property's historical essence while infusing modern elements that reflect their style. The result is a pared-down traditional look with a contemporary twist, achieving a balanced and inviting kitchen space that serves as the heart of the home. The second project for Edit 58's Lisa Mehydene, this time in London. The requirement was one long run and no wall cupboards, giving a completely open canvas above the worktops.

Warm and welcoming are just two of the words that first come to mind when you set your eyes on this stunning space. Known for its culture and art exhibitions, Whitechapel is a vibrant district in the East End of London and this property reflects just that. If you’re a fan of The Main Company, you will know that we are passionate about rustic, reclaimed materials and this space comprises everything that we love, mixing natural textures like concrete, brick, and wood, and the end result is outstanding. Floor to ceiling Crittal style windows create a light and airy space, allowing the homeowners to go for darker, bolder accent colours throughout the penthouse apartment. The kitchen cabinetry has a Brushed Brass Finish, complementing the surrounding exposed brick perfectly, adding a vintage feel to the space along with other features such as a classic Butler sink. The handless cupboards add a modern touch, creating a kitchen that will last for years to come. The handless cabinetry and solid oaks drawers have been topped with concrete worktops as well as a concrete splashback beneath the Elica extractor.

The homeowners liked the idea of two-toned kitchen cabinets, so we opted for a combination of pure white and charcoal gray for dramatic contrast. Brushed gold fixtures and statement brass pulls add warmth and sophistication. The distinctive quartzite counters are a showstopper, with unique veining and striking color variation, from blue to gray to ochre. The shimmering blue-gray backsplash unites the entire space. The overall goal was to create an expansive entertaining kitchen that could accommodate our clients’ large gatherings of family and friends, and provide them with several zones for prepping, serving, seating, and socializing.
