The original kitchen was standard builder-grade oak cabinets with laminate flooring. Upstairs had carpeting in the bedrooms, as well as the main walk areas. Our customer picked a 5" wide plank Hickory wood floor throughout the home. The cabinetry they chose was a shaker-style, White painted cabinet from Merillat. To lighten up the home we added fresh coats of paint on all of the walls and trim, and replaced their outdated lighting with new fixtures.

In this kitchen remodel Waypoint White Thermofoil T02S door style cabinetry was installed accented with Amerock 96mm Gunmetal Modern Pulls. Black Pearl 3cm granite countertops with double roundover small ogee edge full bullnose was installed on the countertop. For the backsplash, 3x6 Periwinkle Bright Tile with Bliss Waterfall Blend Linear Glass Stone Mosaic accent was installed.

I developed a floor plan that would remove the wall between the kitchen and laundry to create one large room. The door to the bathroom would be closed up. It was accessible from the bedroom on the other side. The room became 14’-10” by 11’-6”, large enough to include a small center island. Then I wrapped the perimeter walls with new white shaker style cabinets. We kept the sink under the window but made it a focal point with a white farm sink and new faucet. The range stayed in the same location below an original octagon window. The opposite wall is designed for function with full height storage on the left and a new side-by-side refrigerator with storage above. Client is a young professional who wanted to brighten her kitchen and make unique elements that reflects her style. KTID replaced side cabinets with reclaimed wood shelves. Crystal knobs replace Dry Bar Drawer pulls.. KTID suggested lowering the bar height counter, creating a rustic vs elegant style using reclaimed wood, glass backsplash and quartz waterfall countertop. KTID changed paint color to a darker shade of blue. The pantry was enlarged by removing the wall between the pantry and the refrigerator and putting in a pantry cabinet with roll-out shelves.

The layout and bones of this kitchen worked great for the family. But the dark wood tones and boring black backsplash were in dire need of a refresh. We replaced the cabinet doors and painted white along with a fresh new backsplash, counters and fixtures.

This small townhouse kitchen has no windows (it has a sliding glass door across from the dining nook) and had a limited budget. The owners planned to live in the home for 3-5 more years. The challenge was to update and brighten the space using Ikea cabinets while creating a custom feel with good resale value.

Handle-less kitchen combining melamine wood finish doors, Schmidt Canyon, and micron doors in blue, Schmidt Nordic Blue. The handles are stainless steel strips just under the worktop functioning as grip handle, Schmidt Eolis range. The same is for the tall units, but in vertical, Schmidt Vertica range. To finish the look the quartz worktop in white brings a cooler feeling to the kitchen, as well as more lighting. Instead of splash-back the customer opted for an up-stand in the same material as the worktop and tiles in blue behind the hob. The appliances chosen include American Full Fridge Freezer with water dispenser, built in double oven and single oven, induction hob and wall extractor in stainless steel. The presence of stainless steel matches between appliances, hand grip handles and the under-mounted sink and tap. Also the kick-board or plinth is 10 cm high (allowing more storage space and maximisation of your kitchen storage) matches the handle in stainless steel. For lighting the customer chose ceiling spot lights and under wall unit lighting. To finish the look the customer went for white walls, and ceramic tiling for the floor. The ceramic tiling in a light brown with a touch of grey works as an intermediary between the kitchen and the wooden doors. In terms of cabinets and storage, the kitchen has two tall larder units with internal drawers by the fridge, storage above the fridge and ovens, drawers under the ovens and hob, as well as three extra set of drawers. The dishwasher unit is by the sink, and the bins are in the sink unit, Schmidt Kitchens Dorking offers different options for the sink unit and bins. The wall units are 780 mm high and 370 mm deep, they have grip handles and under lighting.
