We had the privilege of transforming the kitchen space of a beautiful Grade 2 listed farmhouse located in the serene village of Great Bealings, Suffolk. The property, set within 2 acres of picturesque landscape, presented a unique canvas for our design team. Our objective was to harmonise the traditional charm of the farmhouse with contemporary design elements, achieving a timeless and modern look. For this project, we selected the Davonport Shoreditch range. The kitchen cabinetry, adorned with cock-beading, was painted in 'Plaster Pink' by Farrow & Ball, providing a soft, warm hue that enhances the room's welcoming atmosphere. The countertops were Cloudy Gris by Cosistone, which complements the cabinetry's gentle tones while offering durability and a luxurious finish. The kitchen was equipped with state-of-the-art appliances to meet the modern homeowner's needs, including: - 2 Siemens under-counter ovens for efficient cooking. - A Capel 90cm full flex hob with a downdraught extractor, blending seamlessly into the design. - Shaws Ribblesdale sink, combining functionality with aesthetic appeal. - Liebherr Integrated tall fridge, ensuring ample storage with a sleek design. - Capel full-height wine cabinet, a must-have for wine enthusiasts. - An additional Liebherr under-counter fridge for extra convenience. Beyond the main kitchen, we designed and installed a fully functional pantry, addressing storage needs and organising the space. Our clients sought to create a space that respects the property's historical essence while infusing modern elements that reflect their style. The result is a pared-down traditional look with a contemporary twist, achieving a balanced and inviting kitchen space that serves as the heart of the home. A stylish and contemporary rear and side return kitchen extension in East Dulwich. Modern monochrome handle less kitchen furniture has been combined with warm slated wood veneer panelling, a blush pink back painted full height splashback and stone work surfaces from Caesarstone (Cloudburst Concrete). This design cleverly conceals the door through to the utility room and downstairs cloakroom and features bespoke larder storage, a breakfast bar unit and alcove seating.

The open plan kitchen with a central moveable island is the perfect place to socialise. With a mix of wooden and zinc worktops, the shaker kitchen in grey tones sits comfortably next to exposed brick works of the chimney breast. The kitchen accommodates a full set of Neff appliances, and an Air Uno vented hob. We also installed this Ceasarstone Quartz worktop, and behind, metro style tiles to the splashback in teal, to add a pop of colour against the white cabinetry. We also exposed the original metal beams which became a feature of this apartment.

We designed a modern classic scheme for Sarah's family that would be practical everyday but also offer a social mood for evening entertaining. We blended smart prussion blue cabinetry and walls for a smart and connected feel. To lift the scheme we included soft white, ivory, warm wood, rustic surfaces and distressed tile patterns. We incorporated their existing dining furniture into a sensible layout, but up-cycled the seat pads with free coffee sacks. Sarah's collection of vintage treasures were used to beautiful effect in a curated wall shelf display. A custom built and locally sourced island created the hub that they had always wanted.

How do I choose my kitchen units and cabinets?

It’s always best to overestimate how much kitchen storage you’ll need as we all tend to have a habit of filling up whatever current space we have to the maximum. Shaker style cabinets and raised and recessed panel cabinets offer a more traditional kitchen cabinet look, while flat panel cabinet doors tend to lend more to the modern and contemporary style. You can also look at corner drawers and cupboards that open up to reveal lots of extra storage. Kitchen ideas and accessories such as baskets, trolleys and storage jars are both aesthetically pleasing and practical as they give you extra storage space.
