Strong Cabinetry
New kitchen for our client's Eichler in the Fairhaven neighborhood. Grain matched walnut and matte white doors create a beautiful combination.

Details: The integrated stainless steel sink was custom fabricated by the countertop craftspeople. It has crisp corners, a lowered center divider (to minimize splash from the faucet) and offset drains (to push back the plumbing so as to allow for better cabinet storage below). To the right of the sink is a subtle detail (look closely at the reflections to see it), but one that adds great functionality: a sloped, recessed drainboard directs water back into the sink. The window is trimmed tight to the cabinets on either side with custom maple millwork, and has a built-in shelf above--again with trim up to the ceiling. The shelf provides a nice spot for favorite curios and mementos. The pendant light above the sink is actually an LED fixture with an Edison style bulb. Stainless steel outlet and switch covers over black devices pull the design together. Under-cabinet xenon lighting highlights the tile.

What this Mid-century modern home originally lacked in kitchen appeal it made up for in overall style and unique architectural home appeal. That appeal which reflects back to the turn of the century modernism movement was the driving force for this sleek yet simplistic kitchen design and remodel.

Details: In this new cabinet, spices are stored inside the door on adjustable trays. Cabinet shelves were made slightly shallower to accommodate the spice depth.
Board & Vellum
The cooking area and prep area adjoin the open eating area. A 3x6 Carrara marble subway tile wall provides a cost-effective and dramatic backdrop for the space.

Eclectic Interiors
This modern handles kitchen has been designed to maximise the space. Well proportioned L-shaped island with built in table is in the heart of the room providing wonderful space for the young family where cooking, eating and entertaining can take place.
This design successfully provides and an excellent alternative to the classic rectangular Island and separate dinning table. It provides not just an additional work surface for preparations of family meals, but also combines the areas well still providing lots of space at the garden end for a busy young family and entertaining.
A natural beauty of wood grain brings warmth to this matt white cabinets by use of thick walnut framing around the tall units and incorporating it into the island, table and bench seating. Using 12mm porcelain worktop in Pure white which peacefully blends with the kitchen also meant that clients were able to use pattern tiles as wall splash back and on the floor to define the island in the middle of the room.
Materials used:
• Rational cabinets in mat white
• Walnut island and framing
• Integrated Miele appliances
• 12mm porcelain white worktop
