Once a dark, almost claustrophobic wooden box, I used modern colors and strong pieces with an industrial edge to bring light and functionality to this jewelers home studio. The blush works so magically with the charcoal grey on the walls and the furnishings stand up to the burly workbench which takes pride of place in the room. The blush doubles down and acts as a feminine edge on an otherwise very masculine room. The addition of greenery and gold accents on frames, plant stands and the mirror help that along and also lighten and soften the whole space. Die Zielstellung des Baukonzeptes für die Schreinerei ULLRICH besteht aus der Forderung nach Umweltfreundlichkeit sowie der Nutzung von natürlichen und nachwachsenden Materialien. Somit wird hier hauptsächlich als Baustoff das Holz unter der Verwendung von neuen Technologien zum Einsatz kommen. Die Nachhaltigkeit und energetisch positive Bauweise werden hier auf die oberste Prioritätsstufe gesetzt. Neben der tragenden Konstruktion sollen auch die Decken sowie die gesamte Fassade aus dem Baustoff Holz gefertigt werden. Whether you work from home or need a study space to get things done out of hours, finding room in the house for a home office makes for a valuable addition to many homes. Having an industrial home office can seem like the best of both worlds, but it’s important to keep in mind that this should be a productive space that keeps out the many distractions of home. You may not have the luxury of a dedicated room to turn into your industrial office room or home library, so choose your space wisely to ensure privacy and adequate storage. A carefully designed corner in your living room or an alcove can be made into a productive and stylish study space. Your home office furniture with the desk in the centre of your design, needs to include both work surface space and storage ideas – never underestimate how quickly a computer desk can become cluttered with stationery and box files.
