Hi, I'm currently trying to design new kitchen/dining/living space for our period home, without doing a side extension as we feel it wouldn't look right and would affect the rest of the back of the house. The area we have to work with is 3.1m w x 11m). I've always wanted an island with a table extension off it for dining, although still want it to look spacious. In your opinion do you think we have the space to accomodate this, or do you think it would look too cluttered? What is the width of this island? We are planning on having bifold doors at the end of the run to open out on to the garden, which will also have seating area for alfresco dining, a roof lantern/or velux windows will also be installed overhead to bring the light in. The plan is to use the adjoining wall as you have in this picture to house a tall fridge, tall freezer, single cooker, combi microwave, warming draw just to line it all up, larder, storage and single sink. I thought the Dish washer can either go in the kitchen island at the end for ease of access (I'm 5ft-11, was thinking if width space is restricted it need to go on an end, the hob could go in the kitchen island with either a side mounted extractor or overhead extractor, not sure about this as yet. Hope you can help out. Thanks in advance
