Exeter Town House

Garden for a newly constructed townhouse in Exeter, Devon. Large folding glass doors open out from the ground floor living rooms, meaning that the garden is in full view day and night. A canopied gazebo was installed in the sunny far corner, as a focal point and enticing destination. This is approached by a path of concrete pavers through pebbles stepping up to a cedarwood walkway. Interest along the way is provided by contrasting textures of pebbles and polished stone coping, a carved stone water bowl set on a charred oak plinth, and colourful planting in the raised bed. These features are picked out at night by LED lighting in discreet copperfittings. An attractive old brick wall at the end of garden has been repaired and furnished with espalier pears and apples, and there is a small bed for growing salad crops.
