The handmade rugs in these two spaces were the inspiration for the wall color. These spaces have close to a 100 giraffes with about the same amount of handmade African baskets and artifacts. It takes a special kind of client to embrace the eclectic design style. Eclecticism is an approach to design that combines elements from various periods, styles, and sources. It involves the deliberate mixing and matching of different aesthetics to create a unique and visually interesting space. Eclectic design celebrates the diversity of influences and allows for the expression of personal taste and creativity. The client a window dresser in her former life her own bold ideas right from the start, like the wallpaper for the kitchen splashback. The kitchen used to be in what is now the sitting area and was moved into the former dining space. Creating a large Kitchen with a large bench style table coming off it combines the spaces and allowed for steel tube elements in combination with stainless and timber benchtops. Combining materials adds depth and visual interest. The playful and unexpected elements like the elephant wallpaper in the kitchen create a lively and engaging environment. The swapping of the spaces created an open layout with seamless integration to the adjacent living area. The prominent focal point of this kitchen is the island. All the spaces allowed the client the freedom to experiment and showcase her personal style.

Un couple pour qui j'ai déjà travaillé à plusieurs reprises, m'a confié son dernier projet : l'achat d'un appartement situé au dernier étage d'un immeuble, à La Celle Saint Cloud. L'appartement, dans son jus depuis plus de 30 ans, avait besoin d'une sérieuse rénovation. Ici, le séjour ouvert sur la très belle terrasse a été complètement remanié, avec trois espaces bien distincts. Un grand espace salon d'accueil, pour les réceptions, un petit coin télé plus intime, avec des canapés assorti de l'un de mes fournisseurs fétiches, et une belle salle à manger. Des couleurs affirmées, et du mobilier qualitatif pour un agencement à l'image de mes clients.

Meine Kunden wünschten sich ein Gästezimmer. Das würde zwar nur wenig genutzt werden, aber der Raum über der Garage war nun einmal fällig. Da wir im Wohnzimmer keinen Kamin unterbringen konnten, habe ich aus diesem ungeliebtem Appendix ein "Winterwohnzimmer" gemacht, den hier war ein Schornstein gar kein Problem, Zwei neue Dachflächenfenster sorgen für Helligkeit und die beiden Durchbrüche zum Flur sorgen dafür, dass dieser auch etwas von der neuen Lichtquelle profitiert und das zwei Wohnzimmer nicht mehr nur ein Anhängsel ist. Gäste kommen jetzt häufiger als geplant - aus dem Sofa läßt sich in wenigen Minuten ein sehr komfortables Bett machen.

Eclectic Games Room with a Wood Burning Stove Ideas and Designs

If you’re lucky enough to have more than one reception room then you have a bit more freedom when deciding what to do with your secondary space. Families with children or just young-at-heart adults could opt for a family room or eclectic games room; whether it’s a pool or snooker table room, a comfy relaxation or TV area, a video games haven, a playroom packed with toys or a sports room with accompanying bar. Usually eclectic games rooms are naturally fun, recreational spaces so it’s important that the furnishings are functional but enjoyable with an emphasis on comfort, storage, games and entertainment. If you have the scope, family room extensions are a great way of extending from your kitchen or other area of your house to create a whole new, dedicated family space or eclectic games room. Add coffee tables and side tables for holding glasses and plates (if they’re allowed), books, magazines and all the other knick-knacks that accumulate in a family room. A cosy rug will be a great addition but make sure it doesn’t easily slip under fast moving feet! Snooker, billiards and pool tables will keep competitive spirits busy but if you don’t have the room, table football could be a more suitable option. There’s also air hockey, poker tables, table tennis and cribbage tables; simply pick your game of choice. And of course, if you’re a big fan of the arrows a dart board will be a necessity, just make sure you have a safe area to practise in and your walls are well protected!

What family and games room decor should I use?

Photographs, artwork, colour schemes and textures that reflect the essence of your household will add charm and promote a sense of comfort and relaxation for your family. Fill the room with features your family love – films, board games, books, music and perhaps sports memorabilia. Keep decor functional and practical – pristine white upholstery and rugs are probably not the ticket for the hustle and bustle of a games or family room.
