The entry leads to an open plan parlor floor. with adjacent living room at the front, dining in the middle and open kitchen in the back of the house.. One hidden surprise is the paneled door that opens to reveal a tiny guest bath under the existing staircase. Executive Saarinen arm chairs from are reupholstered in a shiny Knoll 'Tryst' fabric which adds texture and compliments the black lacquer mushroom 1970's table and shiny silver frame of the large round mirror. This is the first landing in this triplex. The wallpaper defines my client’s love for Greek and Roman mythology and is seen incorporated throughout the home. The scalloped edge in the mirror adds softness and function as you step out the door every morning. Its truly welcoming.

We wanted to create a welcoming statement upon entering this newly built, expansive house with soaring ceilings. To focus your attention on the entry and not the ceiling, we selected a custom, 48- inch round foyer table. It has a French Wax glaze, hand-rubbed, on the solid concrete table. The trefoil planter is made by the same U.S facility, where all products are created by hand using eco- friendly materials. The finish is white -wash and is also concrete. Because of its weight, it’s almost impossible to move, so the client adds freshly planted flowers according to the season. The table is grounded by the lux, hair- on -hide skin rug. A bronze sculpture measuring 2 feet wide buy 3 feet high fits perfectly in the built-in alcove. While the hexagon space is large, it’s six walls are not equal in size and wrap around a massive staircase, making furniture placement an awkward challenge We chose a stately Italian cabinet with curved door fronts and hand hammered metal buttons to further frame the area. The metal botanical wall sculptures have a glossy lacquer finish. The various sizes compose elements of proportion on the walls above. The graceful candelabra, with its classic spindled silhouette holds 28 candles and the delicate arms rise -up like a blossoming flower. You can’t help but wowed in this elegant foyer. it’s almost impossible to move, so the client adds freshly planted flowers according to the season.

Mstari Safari Task Lounge

Meaning “line” in Swahili, the Mstari Safari Task Lounge itself is accented with clean wooden lines, as well as dramatic contrasts of hammered gold and reflective obsidian desk-drawers. A custom-made industrial, mid-century desk—the room’s focal point—is perfect for centering focus while going over the day’s workload. Behind, a tiger painting ties the African motif together. Contrasting pendant lights illuminate the workspace, permeating the sharp, angular design with more organic forms. Outside the task lounge, a custom barn door conceals the client’s entry coat closet. A patchwork of Mexican retablos—turn of the century religious relics—celebrate the client’s eclectic style and love of antique cultural art, while a large wrought-iron turned handle and barn door track unify the composition. A home as tactfully curated as the Mstari deserved a proper entryway. We knew that right as guests entered the home, they needed to be wowed. So rather than opting for a traditional drywall header, we engineered an undulating I-beam that spanned the opening. The I-beam’s spine incorporated steel ribbing, leaving a striking impression of a Gaudiesque spine.

Rooms filled with light, fine art and antique furniture were the backdrops for our "Kentfield Collected" project. This was an overall home refresh and our team loved the challenge of bringing new life to the exquisite existing collection of art and antiques. We started with thoughtful space planning to achieve an overall outcome that is more pleasing for the clients' enjoyment of the home when each room feels more balanced. The refreshing of exciting items and the selection of a few new pieces brought a touch of light, beauty and pop of unexpected that paired beautifully with the treasured finds of the homeowners. In the powder bath, the poppy wall covering, navy vanity and silvery metallic ceiling paint is one of the pops of unexpected delight you will find in the home. Our team designed beautiful linen draperies in a creamy gold-tone that perfectly framed the amazing view from the dining room windows. The buffet in a dark navy with a faux Belgian linen finish and a pair of crystal lamps were the right balance to complement the wall art in the room. The addition of a game table to the living room framed by a mirror and scones is an ideal spot for a game of cards or stunning flowers. The reupholstered chaise took on a hip and vibrant vibe in a lush green velvet fabric and placed in a perfectly edited guest suite. Custom outdoor cushions and pillows create a spot to enjoy the deck and views at the end of the day. Let us also not forget Buster (our project mascot) welcoming guests to this fine-tuned Kentfield beauty. We really wanted a wow factor as you first walked into the house. We achieved this by wallpapering each wall in the entrance in a bold geometric wallpaper by Cole & Son, in greay and white. A contemporary look with a nod to the oriental and exotic. An oversized placed over the console added extra depth to the space and made the small foyer seem larger. As a feature light we opted for a more contemporary look and installed a white Monkey Ball pendent to add an element of playfulness.
