Sustainable KitchensView of the whole kitchen. The island is painted in Valspar Merlin and has an oak worktop with an antiqued brass inlay. The stools are also oak. The base cabinetry is painted in Farrow & Ball Ammonite. The splashback behind the Aga cooker is also antiqued brass. The hanging pendant lights are vintage clear glass, chrome and brass. The worktop on the sink run is Nero Asulto Antique Granite. The floating shelves are oak.

Northwest Log HomesTimber frame builders Chris Neill and Dwayne Keim, along with investor Jacques Berten, had decided to build a spectacular, 4,000-square-foot timber frame barn home near Eureka, Montana. The timber barn was to combine the rustic charm of a barn home with a soaring, modern barn home interior that Neill describes as reminiscent of a “Soho barn loft.”
