Premium Contemporary Basement Ideas and Designs
Annette Jaffe InteriorsThis 4,500 sq ft basement in Long Island is high on luxe, style, and fun. It has a full gym, golf simulator, arcade room, home theater, bar, full bath, storage, and an entry mud area. The palette is tight with a wood tile pattern to define areas and keep the space integrated. We used an open floor plan but still kept each space defined. The golf simulator ceiling is deep blue to simulate the night sky. It works with the room/doors that are integrated into the paneling — on shiplap and blue. We also added lights on the shuffleboard and integrated inset gym mirrors into the shiplap. We integrated ductwork and HVAC into the columns and ceiling, a brass foot rail at the bar, and pop-up chargers and a USB in the theater and the bar. The center arm of the theater seats can be raised for cuddling. LED lights have been added to the stone at the threshold of the arcade, and the games in the arcade are turned on with a light switch.

UserLarge open floor plan in basement with full built-in bar, fireplace, game room and seating for all sorts of activities. Cabinetry at the bar provided by Brookhaven Cabinetry manufactured by Wood-Mode Cabinetry. Cabinetry is constructed from maple wood and finished in an opaque finish. Glass front cabinetry includes reeded glass for privacy. Bar is over 14 feet long and wrapped in wainscot panels. Although not shown, the interior of the bar includes several undercounter appliances: refrigerator, dishwasher drawer, microwave drawer and refrigerator drawers; all, except the microwave, have decorative wood panels.
CBH ArchitectsThis formerly unfinished basement in Montclair, NJ, has plenty of new space - a powder room, entertainment room, large bar, large laundry room and a billiard room. Creative Surfaces Countertops & TileThis beautiful home in Brandon recently completed the basement. The husband loves to golf, hence they put a golf simulator in the basement, two bedrooms, guest bathroom and an awesome wet bar with walk-in wine cellar. Our design team helped this homeowner select Cambria Roxwell quartz countertops for the wet bar and Cambria Swanbridge for the guest bathroom vanity. Even the stainless steel pegs that hold the wine bottles and LED changing lights in the wine cellar we provided.

Meghan Carter Design Inc.A basement office and gym combination. The owner is a personal trainer and this allows her to work out of her home in a professional area of the house. The vinyl flooring is gym quality but fits into a residential environment with a rich linen-look. Custom cabinetry in quarter sawn oak with a clearcoat finish and blue lacquered doors adds warmth and function to this streamlined space. The gym bench and cubbies back onto a long filing cabinet in the office area.

Mosby Building ArtsThe back wall of the finished basement craft room is floor to ceiling custom cabinetry from Showplace in the Savannah door style, with a white satin finish. The cabinet knobs and pulls are Alcott by Atlas. The drywall has 3/4" radius trims to create softly curved edges.
