This is a concrete blockwork wall which has then been clad and coped with stone. From the back wall to the back of this retaining wall is around 1.5 - 2 metres. So this bed is large enough to plant specimen sized bamboo as well as other plants. However there must be a root barrier membrane between the bamboo and the other plants as otherwise the bamboo will run and crowd all other plants out.

Apologies for not getting to this. Decking is iroko and the paving is sandblasted basaltite.
