La cliente a souhaité compléter la formule conseils par des 3D afin de bien visualiser la future pièce, et ce sont les visuels que vous allez découvrir dans les prochains jours !

The previously bare mantle was styled with attention to a balance of the 5 elements of Feng Shui. Along with a purchased pair of glass hurricane jars and candles, we added a vase of flowers, and some wood and metal objects gathered from around the house. A consignment store wood-framed mirror replaced the smaller and beat up looking white one that had hung over the fireplace. This entryway and living area are part of an adventuresome project my wife and I embarked upon to create a complete apartment in the basement of our townhouse. We designed a floor plan that creatively and efficiently used all of the 385-square-foot-space, without sacrificing beauty, comfort or function – and all without breaking the bank! To maximize our budget, we did the work ourselves and added everything from thrift store finds to DIY wall art to bring it all together. Our normal décor tends towards earth tones and old-world styles. In this project we had the chance to branch out and play with a new style and color palette. We chose orange for the living area’s accent wall and paired this with royal blue to create a look that is warm, bright, and bold.

This is another favorite home redesign project. Throughout my career, I've worked with some hefty budgets on a number of high-end projects. You can visit Paris Kitchens and Somerset Kitchens, companies that I have worked for previously, to get an idea of what I mean. I could start name dropping here, but I won’t, because that's not what this project is about. This project is about a small budget and a happy homeowner. This was one of the first projects with a custom interior design at a fraction of a regular budget. I could use the term “value engineering” to describe it, because this particular interior was heavily value engineered. The result: a sophisticated interior that looks so much more expensive than it is. And one ecstatic homeowner. Mission impossible accomplished. ​ P.S. Don’t ask me how much it cost, I promised the homeowner that their impressive budget will remain confidential. In any case, no one would believe me even if I spilled the beans.

A young family with a toddler bought a Decorist Makeover because they wanted budget-friendly decorating help for the living room in their new, bungalow-style Northern California residence. They were starting from scratch, and needed to affordably furnish the entire space in a way that was kid friendly, but adult-centric...a comfortable place to entertain guests, and relax and enjoy the fireplace and view. Decorist designer Chrissy recommended an orange and gray palette, incorporating pattern and texture through the geometric rug, modern trellis pillows and the Mongolian fur throw pillow. And to be kid-friendly without compromising style, she chose tables with rounded edges, from the mid-century inspired oval wood coffee table to the pair of metal + marble CB2 side tables. When it comes to the layout of your living room, it will depend on what pieces of furniture you have – but how do you choose what living room furniture to add, whether you’re refreshing your living room design or starting from scratch? The best place to start is with the seating – one corner sofa will usually seat three to four people, and if that’s all you think you’ll need, then you can leave it at that. Placing your sofa along the longest wall helps to make the most of the space, but think about where you want the focus of the room to be, too. If you need more seating, look at armchairs that offer comfort but don’t take up too much space – cramming a room with too many large armchairs is something to avoid. Coffee tables are always handy, but you can always add a couple of side tables if you don’t want to clutter the central space in front of seating with anything.
