The homes exterior has a Mediterranean feel with a stucco exterior and stained wood accents. The entry is a work of art with stained arched doors with transoms and a hanging gas lantern. The tile roof and cedar brackets, exposed rafter beams and patterned turf soften the look and make you feel like you have been swept away to a vacation resort. Built by Phillip Vlahos of Destin Custom Home Builders. It was designed by Bob Chatham Custom Home Design and decorated by Allyson Runnels.

This is a home that was designed around the property. With views in every direction from the master suite and almost everywhere else in the home. The home was designed by local architect Randy Sample and the interior architecture was designed by Maurice Jennings Architecture, a disciple of E. Fay Jones. This property came with a house which proved ill-matched to our clients’ needs but which nestled neatly amid beautiful live oaks. In choosing to commission a new home, they asked that it also tuck under the limbs of the oaks and maintain a subdued presence to the street. Extraordinary efforts such as cantilevered floors and even bridging over critical root zones allow the design to be truly fitted to the site and to co-exist with the trees, the grandest of which is the focal point of the entry courtyard. Of equal importance to the trees and view was to provide, conversely, for walls to display 35 paintings and numerous books. From form to smallest detail, the house is quiet and subtle.
