In the spirit of conserving the budget as well as our environment - we gave the vanity new life with new doors, drawer fronts, hardware and fresh paint! The black fixtures add an elegant "punch" to the space. Custom quartz countertops, new flooring, and unique tile pattern round out the renovation!
S Squared Design, LLCThis bathroom was the final space to be designed for this client by me. We did space planning and furniture when they first moved in, a couple years later we did a full kitchen remodel and now we finally did the bathroom. This wasn't a full remodel so we kept some of the items that were in good condition and updated the rest. First thing we focused on was the shower, with some existing functional problems we made sure the incorporate storage and a bench for this walk in shower. That allowed space for bottles and a seat. With the existing vanity cabinet and counter tops staying I wanted to coordinate the dark counter with adding some dark elements elsewhere to tie they in together. We did a dark charcoal hex shower floor and also used that tile in the back of the niches. Since the shower was a dark place we added a light in shower and used a much lighter tile on the wall and bench. this tile was carried into the rest of the bathroom on the floor and the smaller version for the tub surround in a 2"x2" mosaic. The wall color before was dark and client loved it so we did a new dark grey but brightened the space with a white ceiling. New chrome faucets throughout to give a reflective element. This bathroom truly feels more relaxing for a bath or a quick shower!

Designed by ImanWe went with a striped feature tile to add some impact to the space. We created a floating vanity with a vessel sink and deck mounted faucet. The round mirror plays with the round sink and hardware. The one piece toilet creates a clean modern look.

There are actually regulations around what type of light fittings you can use and where – IP67 rating lights for submerged areas e.g. inside baths and sinks (Zone 0); IP65 for any area above a shower or bath (Zone 1); and IP44 rating for anything 0.6m from a bath or basin (Zone 2). After you’ve made sure your light fittings are safe and to-code, you can consider the type and style you’d like as your working through your bathroom ideas. Although it can be done with panelling, materials like tadelakt, waterproof paint, wallpaper or well-treated wood; bathroom tiles are so copious and easy to apply that it’s hard to avoid going with tiles in the bathroom. The great thing is that both floor tiles and wall tiles come in a huge variety of sizes, styles, colours and patterns, so you can remodel your room completely with whatever tile choices fit with your bathroom ideas. When it comes to flooring, tiles will be durable, easy to clean and deal well with water, but if you want something different you could go with modern concrete, traditional or country-style treated wooden floorboards, or a bit more quirky bamboo, cork or vinyl. The best small bathroom ideas will maximise the space you have. From installing a bidet to simple decorative tips there are plenty of things you can do to make it look bigger.
