Revival by DesignWhen we were asked by our clients to help fully overhaul this grade II listed property. We knew we needed to consider the spaces for modern day living and make it as open and light and airy as possible. There were a few specifics from our client, but on the whole we were left to the design the main brief being modern country with colour and pattern. There were some challenges along the way as the house is octagonal in shape and some rooms, especially the principal ensuite were quite a challenge.

This freestanding tub was painted a custom color on site. Notice the decorative tile border on the wainscot. A ledge allows room for a sculpture. There is both recessed lighting and surface-mounted lighting as the custom vanity made of cherry wood has shaded wall sconces.
Mary Rossi Designs I designed the spa master bath to provide a calming oasis by using a blend of marble tile, concrete counter tops, chrome, crystal and a refurbished antique claw foot tub.

Nicole Arnold InteriorsWe transformed a Georgian brick two-story built in 1998 into an elegant, yet comfortable home for an active family that includes children and dogs. Although this Dallas home’s traditional bones were intact, the interior dark stained molding, paint, and distressed cabinetry, along with dated bathrooms and kitchen were in desperate need of an overhaul. We honored the client’s European background by using time-tested marble mosaics, slabs and countertops, and vintage style plumbing fixtures throughout the kitchen and bathrooms. We balanced these traditional elements with metallic and unique patterned wallpapers, transitional light fixtures and clean-lined furniture frames to give the home excitement while maintaining a graceful and inviting presence. We used nickel lighting and plumbing finishes throughout the home to give regal punctuation to each room. The intentional, detailed styling in this home is evident in that each room boasts its own character while remaining cohesive overall.

There are actually regulations around what type of light fittings you can use and where – IP67 rating lights for submerged areas e.g. inside baths and sinks (Zone 0); IP65 for any area above a shower or bath (Zone 1); and IP44 rating for anything 0.6m from a bath or basin (Zone 2).
