Bathroom remodel

This project plan was to tear down existing bath and just increase the the square footage. As the construction progressed, so did my imagination. We designed the bath around some unique shutters that were in terrible shape. We had a custom window made to fit them just above the bathtub. Then, I thought "Why not barrel the ceiling?!!" Of course, all door openings had to be arched. We used antique 7 foot radius door for the entry, that I refinished with a stain on the exterior and distressed pattern on the reverse side. After the walls were mudded to a level 5, honey onyx was laid, then my job began. all wood work and cabinetry were painted and glazed. The vanities and linen closet have specialty finishes using Modello patterns, metallic plasters, and glazes. All the pulls are embedded with mother-of-pearl. The ceiling was multiple colors of Venetian plaster to reflect the onyx. Then, a very intricate Modello pattern was applied using Venetian metallic plaster. the walls are in a soft blue Marmorino Italian plaster with embedded Modello patterns in every arch way. The water closet walls are in a deeper blue Venetian plaster. The shutters that flank the window above the bathtub, were totally striped of existing glass, Bomar wood appliques covering all wood surfaces, painted and glazed. I had individual mirrors cut for each pane for both sides and did a Verre Eglomise' aging process using foils and Modellos. Big job, lots of details- LOVED every minute!
