HELP. I really want to have one of those mounted into the ceiling range hoods from WOLF.... My range is in front of windows with a soffet above it. There isn't a lot of space. Can this be done? Is it up to the HVAC people to figure it out?

I live in a condo and really want to get a range hood that vent outside for my cooking. Right now it is just a microwave above the range. Someone suggested venting out through the second floor and attic to the roof, if the HOA board will approve it. But a contractor came and said my only option is ductless. He said I can only vent behind the hood and that's some else's condo. Any idea if the vent can only be outside behind the wall? I thought you can vent up as well but not sure if there is any kind of limitation.

Unless there is some other reason, a hood can vent straight up. See the section on installing a range hood with vertical duct: https://www.prolinerangehoods.com/blog/range-hoods-that-vent-outside/
