I agree with Lynette L. Living in Canada with 6 months of winter, nothing turns me off more than a grey room! Every staged home for sale has light grey walls and blue kitchen cabinets. Yuck! When we move this year I say: Give me cream! So our first job will be to paint the new place. I can live with a bit of coolness but in accents only.

I have an 1100 sq ft 1960 bungalow with an open plan and lots of big windows. I used a Benjamin Moore paint sample with three varying shades of the same color on it. The (well lit) kitchen is the darkest shade, dining, living, entrance and hallway areas are the other two. It was funny when a few years later we decided to move our tv and had to put another outlet in the wall. After the wall was sealed up, we mixed those two lighter colors together and had just enough paint to cover. Who knew?!
