I love this kitchen. I am a huge fan of white cabinetry but like the applications where it is mixed with a pretty hardwood such as walnut. I also have an unvented gas stove. it is legal where I live though not that desirable. Because prior owners had remodeled and put the stove in a peninsula in the middle of the room it cannot be vented through an exterior wall. It is a 2 story house so it cannot vent up either. It has not been that much of a problem. The stovetop gets grease splatters but they really don't go everywhere. I have a surface lamp with a white shade right by the stove and it is not visibly dirty. So these fears are unfounded. Just don't put the smoke alarm too close to the stove.

I love the marble tiles; very crisp and elegant and the black muntins. The cabinets are beautifully organized and the drawers are wonderful. I love tray storage and cutting board storage. I was amused to read that the proper brass fittings could only be found in London and then they had to be hand stripped to be just right. But it is a beautiful kitchen and I commend the design and execution. The old kitchen was quite awful but people were less concerned about design in the old days. That said I never understood why they were not concerned about light. The prior kitchen was absolutely a cave. This one a bright, wonderful space and- I wish to add-you can't see the cooking mess from the dining table-to me so very important and civilized.

I would worry about carbon monoxide poisoning, unvented!

What brand of windows are those...love the hardware on them. I’m planning on moving my range in front of windows too...why not have a view when you cook
