Great advice all of it. I would also add be sure to hide any bank statements or personal information that may be used to access your accounts. Make it hard for burglars. Hide all the keys you are leaving at home in different places. Think of where you wouldn't look if you were in a hurry if you do not have a secured safe. I am not sure relying on strangers or passers-by to report suspicious activity is a good idea. Why would they and what is suspicious if you don't know someone? Its a better idea to tell your neighbours what dates you are away and that you are not expecting any removals/ large deliveries or visitors. People are very busy and they might not notice anyway. Walk through your house and think like a burglar.
