Why were the bottles not kept whole & filled with water to act as passive solar heat storage components in those walls with exposure to sunshine.

@wedreambuilders and others: To build a wall with bottles to emit light - take two bottles and cut the ends off. Put one end in the outside of the plaster or mud wall and put the other end in the inside of the plaster or mud wall. The cut portion ends up being in the middle of the plaster/mud wall. This way the light shines through and the cut portions butt up against each other. Some people will duct tape the two ends together, others don't. The glass bottom is now smooth to the exterior and the interior sides so dust isn't an issue unless one wants to dust the glass bottoms just like dusting a wall in your house.

I am confused - this couple "chose" to build a foundation of assembled industrial waste (tires)? In all the decades since earth homes were "invented", has no one questioned the logic or sought to use a non toxic alternative?
