205 Front Door
We could discuss with Alan something like this. These are not sidelights. They're two gunslit windows. So he would 2 by 4 walls around the front door and in that framing set a front door and these two gunslit windows. This could be another way to get the custom lead glass from an artist that is beveled like 108, etc., that is not super-expensive. Note the lovely parqueed floor. CGK the floor Is fabulous the first thing I noticed
This Tudor-type glass, with the led whatever they're called separating beveled pieces of glass could work if you use it sparingly as is shown here. Note that we won't have the top light above the door. So the door system will look "squattier." But we could go to a glass artist to have sidelights like these made and it wouldn't break the bank. Also, I think Jenn-Weld can probably do this as a custom piece. Because of the lack of glass in the door, cost would be less. I think this looks nice and the wood on the INSIDE adds an architectural element to the foyer that is otherwise lacking any real interest. But this door could be dark green on the outside, or not CGK like the arch & side panels door would have to darker
This is the kind of thing Alan has in mind -- I think because his is what he did at the Barkis' and because it echoes in some way the lead glass at 108. But I think you're creating a clean-line, Traditional, pretty bright and elegant looking inside, so that these wood doors with this type of glass -- which is all you'll get without enormous expense of custom insets from a glass artist (which is do-able if you want that CGK my first thought was too heavy but maybe not elegant for sure!
This is pretty close. Don't think we can have the top-light. But we would widen the front stoop like this outside of the entryway so as to enable planters like this to be placed under your lights. Your lights are on the outside of your indented entryway -- I know. But this is a very simple, wide-door, side-light set up that would work well. We could get fancier with the door and side-lights.
Very simple but could work well. Of course we don't have anything above the door. CGK like the arch
