Retro Bungalow
[ALLISON TOP 3] Jason - I like the sink. Allison - I like the look, I like the contrast of the materials, the counter top to the wood. Really pretty. Jason - and I like the shelf behind that, it's cool. TLC Team - The plants growing behind too we could definitely do, enhance the historical feel. Jason - Yes but remember that spot gets little sun. TLC Team - We could use shade-loving plants that thrive in this region for that space.
[ALLISON TOP 3] Jason - I like the deck, the stonework where the island L-shaped bar made of stone. I like the orange stools. Allison- I like the same things as Jason and the mix of materials and how they work together, the bar. TLC Team- separate functional spaces are connected. Materials outside can reflect some of the look and feel from inside to honor the historical style.
Door example from Origin Bi-folds. Custom made bi-folding aluminum doors. (Link from Jason) Jason- i did more research on origin doors, we are definitely not going with them. The three choices I'm looking at, AG millworks, La cantina, Marvin. They all make the same stuff. If you have an opinion on one, let me know. - getting marvin quote but we won't have it till next week. We shifted gears .
Black Windows/Doors color option
Steele Grey color option
Color options 1 from Jason
Color options 2 from Jason
Jason - I love the seating. TLC- got it. Very nice integration of steel, wood, lighting, screen and plant material.
Jason - I like the weathered steel planters. This is the company that designed our space in West Hampton. GOT IT! TLC - I like the combination here of modern with brick scale and proportions honor the the space. Jason - Copper will weather green. Allison - I hate green! like the boxwoods .
This lighter color would suite the site very well. The darker segments of the wood would interplay on the brick.
This is similar to the wood floor we had in our city apt and we loved it (LV floors)..I think it is too dark for our current home, but like the image on the left. TLC- roger. I like the grain its beautiful.
TLC- Nice. Which of the sculptures are your favorite of the ones you uploaded?
TLC- Lovely.
TLC- I like the texture, the creative interplay.
TLC - Cool Sculpture. In a surprising, captivating color
TLC Team - Bamboo & wood, modern furniture and patio. What do you think about this?
TLC Team - Another from the Bayon Tree design. Wood, modern horizontal paneling, integrated greenery in planter.
TLC - From Cheri's colleague Banyon Tree Design in Seattle, may resonate with you, the stone and wood aesthetic, accented seamlessly with a steel planter.
TLC Team - Neutral colors and then use of one playful color. We can utilize this idea for the color palette outside. Another idea for turn of the century, modern design.
TLC Team - Combination of steel and wood that we can utilize outdoors (From Pinterest board).
TLC Team - (From Pinterest board) this is just an example of aesthetic that bridges the gap between historical and modern.
Screen example from West Hamptons residence
Jason & Allison - too open. Jason - Horizontal looks more modern. TLC Team - We can play with distances between the boards.
TLC Team - (From Pinterest board) good example of using plant material to frame whatever we have in the background. Jason - If thinking about perennials, I would love to integrate them with evergreen. Don't want to lose the screen by October, when we could be outside still in December warmer days. TLC Team - We can use a variety to create seasonal screening and color. Evergreen plus perrennials
Jason - Caught my eye. Like the lights. Allison - The drop down into the yard, separated area for the food and kitchen. Separate but the way the plants are placed, it flows seamlessly into the yard.
Jason - Built-in eggs. Like the way they put the wood underneath. Like the stone integration with wood. Cool, minimalist and no gas grill! TLC Team - This has opening for bottom of the egg, do you have preference? Jason - The old space had cut outs for ventilation and pizza peel. May look better if it's open. Egg needs to be placed about 2 inches above the surface. Allison - no opinion on the egg.
Jason - Don't like the egg hanging down, but it looks cool with the steel. Allison - I don't like the steel counter top.
Jason & Allison - we hate the cabinets but the egg placement is cool.
TLC - Nice bar stools those are really cool . Whats the seat material?
nice egg integration
Doors. I have some pulled and wainting on numbers.
Jason - I love the bocce court, would love to do this but don't know if we have room. 4 ft by 40 ft. I don't know if it's wide enough, but take a gander at ti. Boccee is fun but you don't have the room unless we remove trees ......
Allison - Want to be able to hose off whatever is under the table. I do like the fence. TLC Team - yes, so no pea gravel.
Jason - I like the stone and the roses growing up the fence. What's the deal in Boulder about planting bamboo? TLC Team - type of bamboo depends. We can choose cultivars that will succeed in this region. They are clumping bamboo and will stay contained. Love bamboo using scecial varieties allows for a beautiful finish ont he bamboo with less maintenance.
Jason - I hate the arid look. I hate red plants, maybe something whimsical but red is too harsh. Allison - I defer to Jason on the plants, that's his passion. I love plants but I absolutely defer to him. Whatever he says goes. GOT IT. no red. or dessert loks
