Jae's Ideas
Laundry area - I like it open, has space for both washer and dryer or two washers - depending on the need, a deep tub so it can be used for hand wash stuff, the cupboard next to it where all the washing and sanitising equipment including the ironing board can go into and the long rail which we can use to hang ironed clothes instead of hanging them over chairs
Change the stairs (both to match) to something like this?

This would be awesome for a garage door - but not too sure if they can roll up or we will be paying very premium prices for these types of motorised doors
An alternative for just a roof covering over the side could be this if there is enough space
We can push out just a roof over the side for an additional car or even to place things under - protection from the sun - not sure if it is cost effective
This is another way we could enclose the upstairs using less expensive materials
The upstairs could be enclosed somewhat like this?
This is another idea for the downstairs. Instead of just ending the timber at 6m out from the house walls, it closes at 6m (or have the ability through folding doors) and then another 1.5-2m of deck wood laid out in the open outdoors
Not sure if this is doable for the upstairs where we tear open part of the wall to make room for a window like this one - then the kitchen will open to the deck making it relatively easy to dine and entertain seamlessly
Another idea of the upper glass ceiling to let natural light come in and another idea for the doors that can open up - it might be worthwhile considering a part of the door to be opened for the top deck and then an outside of maybe another metre for a Japanese deck feel
An idea for the downstairs deck - the far off built in cabinet can serve as a display unit for the teas, if we are doing experiences, and other items that we want displayed. That should be covered with glass, if it is built in, we can possibly get the carpenter to do it. The middle folding door could be something we utilise downstairs as well - this will enable us to have two or one open spaces depending on how many people we may have
For one side of the upstairs deck where we can have a nook to put books and something like this for reading and chilling
Panelling on the roof where it is glass/transparent material to let natural light in. Possibly the long glass doors for the downstairs deck to allow as much light in but also having the ability to keep it closed in the event of hail, strong wind, rain, etc.
Window panelling with the mesh outside - may be suitable for upstairs deck to keep it enclosed but still allow plenty of natural light in
These tile combination - scallop and textured wall, is also a good look for the downstairs bathroom
